Greg Hancock is not European and has not had any issues. Zagar and Vaculik and Emil are not from EU countries. It won't be an issue. Just as it is not an issue when he has ridden in other countries for which he does not have a work visa, such as Latvia and Denmark. And just as GP ruders have not had issues with Australia despite none of them having work visas for there.

Not going to requote the lengthy OP but: There are hardly any poles racing here anyway, so banning them is not going to make any major difference. The only way a promoter can tie a rider to a 5 year contract is if that commitment works both ways ie. promoter cannot terminate it and commits to pay the rider for the full 5 years. Can u see that happening?

European U19 Cup Saturday 12th August
waiheke1 replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Is this GP format or...? A one off meeting or series? Not wanting to jinx it but Lambert, who must have started 2nd favourite behind Smektala, has had a super first 3 heats. Fully recovered now from injury? -
You're aware I presume that 14/16 riders at Cardiff are not Brits and the vast majority of those do not hold British work visas. There will not be an issue just as for example there is not an issue when a German football team comes to play at Wembley. The only riders I have ever heard of having issues are the lagutas

Seems to me the Poles are taking reasonable steps to safeguard their investment in their leagues.Bad news for Britsin though, zero or two other leagues I think there was still the opportunity to get TOP riders. Now the only possibility would seem to be if say Doyle or Holder decide that the benefits of being based in Britain outweighs the extra earnings in Sweden. Or could they actually still base themselves on the uk without a work visa by demonstrating they had sufficient income overseas to support themselves?

Woffy tempting at those odds...hope he has a good one -
Surely every sport is dominated by those who through money at it? Certainly Football Cricket rugby RL etcI imagine the poles will organise more and more individual and pairs meetings for the top riders.

Yeah because Holder is terrible round the NSS and would certainly have struggled to match the 2 points MPT scored... -
Greg Hancock Hurt?

And of course the world champion 2 of the last 3 years...it's like saying what did Maugrr bring, given he wasn't a racer like Collins or Olsen. -

He wasn't talking to you, he was talking to Middlo, the one quoted as saying Matt should stick to perm if hair... -
More of a concern is that it means any Brit who wants to be world class will need to quit British speedway at some point. On the plus side it may mean swedes and Danes choose to skip Poland and ride three leagues elsewhere if they are not guaranteed team places (and in fact do either of those countries have requirement to ride in home leagues or face consequences?)

LOL! Like the meeting where puk fell on heat 10, Middlo thought it was safe to run the re-run but then not to go any further!?!? Had Poole been losing I'm sure Middlo would have shared the concerns about track conditions Do I really think he wouldn't have copped a ban too without one? Or the ref would allow IRR without corroboration from the medical team? Methinks you are trolling

I don't think Neil Macfarlane was the one who distributed the mail. And generally you can't control hoaxes issued by others where they include your name.A quick google reveals nothing whatsoever about this "series" which is probably an indication of what isn't happennimg

Technically CH and Batch are no longer in it...

WhT is the penalty for fielding an ineligible rider in hear15? Just deduction of points scored by ineligible rider (0)?
-
I assume the reason Speedway Star didn't run it is that it's a hoax?

I know you are taking the piss, but using the logic of the Redcar meeting it could have been declared after 7! -

Time To Crack Down On The Aussies?
waiheke1 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I've recently moved country. My employer covered all the relocation costs and an extra lump sum payment. If I leave within 2 years I have to repay a prorate portion. Similarly I've had the scenario where my study was paid for,if I left within a certain time period I would have had to repay it.I don't see how that is any different here. If the rider is not given a contract for the stipulated period there would be no requirement to pay it back. -

You've missed VAT, the fact there are two teams and that there are other costs beyond wages. Also optimistic to assume you can get 2k attending a diluted league. Apart from that it's a good business plan...
