  1. The reason Muiselaks average was ridiculous is that if he was signed at the start of the season he would have been on close to a 7 but because he was signed later in the season he had no multiplier applied. I said that it was ridiculous at the time it became mentioned that new signings may not have a multiplier and I can't see any rational argument to the contrary.
  2. The assumption there is that the rider has say 5 years at NL level at that stage. Louis was a 2nd tier HL in his 2nd season from memory. I'd also say the chances now of someone taking up the sport and making such rapid progress is very slim.
  3. It's an illegal guest. Not the first one this year. But according to the rules of it has been oked then belle Vue have a limited window to object, otherwise the illegal guest is allowed. Amazing that such cheating is allowed to happen.
  4. Surely you see the irony of suggesting that Poland should stick to two race nights...
  5. Ok- firstly I think averages should be based on the previous season, so if a rider skips a season in the uk their average should be based on a converted average from overseas leagues.Woryna has gone from being a 5pt rider in Poland to an 8pt rider who finished 2nd on the Ekstraliga riders championship. If you don't consider that a significant improvement I'd be interested to know what he would have needed to do for you to consider it one? As for Musielak - from memory he averaged 4.6 from the mouth tougher HL spot so that average was already artificially low. But the really ridiculous thing is at the start of the season he would have come in with a 1.4 multiplier. So a little under 7. The points limit was dropped mid season by 16%. So logically the multiplier should have dropped to around1.2. But bewilderingly the multiplier was dropped altogether, so Musielak came in on an average effectively 16% lower than if he had been signed at the start of the season. How can you not think that is the most ludicrous rule on a long line of ludicrous rules around averages? Tbf if he is given an 8pt average that isn't Poole being screwed over, its commonsense. If they somehow get him on a 4.6 fair play to them for a good signing.
  6. Using an old average is ludicrous though. Not as ludicrous as Musielak, who should have been on a 6+. But surely at some point the bspa must bring on a sensible policy. Or...maybe not
  7. Surely that depends on what average he comes in on. Logically should be his ekstraliga average from this year
  8. How does that tie back to the point being made - that was shown to be fade -that "many" British riders were without a team due to averages? Edit: in fairness to TWK I think James sarjeant was without a team place at the start of the year due to averages. BUT like Jacobs it is likely that his place apply went to a 2pt Brit instead. You could also argue that Ritchie worrall was without a PL place due to averages.
  9. Tbf I'd happily have him at Bellevue as I imagine we'll need to shed a couple of points and bjerre to holder would likely work.
  10. Are football club owners on the sidelines each game? Rugby club owners?
  11. So surely SS is right that Thorssel prioritised Poland over the UK
  12. Ok so can you name one good British rider without a team place this year then?
  13. Which one of your FB accounts though Steve 😉
  14. That's a surprise. I'd have though holder Kurtz and Shanes had all done enough this season to get a place for next year.
  15. Who are the good British riders without a team this season being referred to? I'd say we should also note that only the pick of the aussues come over to the UK, those that are not good enough stay at home. And not all the aussies race in their national championship - likes of holder and Doyle don't for a start.
  16. If you're going to be pedantic, surely it would be "pulling up any trees."It amuses me when you of all people correct other people's phrasing or spelling. Oe are you trying to set a president?
  17. For drama magic and controversy I agree you can't beat the old one off world final. However for quality of racing I defy you to say that either of those finals had better racing than the gp from Saturday which was the pint I was making. I'd really recommend you watch it on youtube. I'd say there are a range of factors driving the improved quality of racing (better track prep, a field where all 16 riders are world class, every rider having something to race for right to the final heat, improvement in safety meaning riders are willing to take more risks), but skill of riders is certainly one of them imo.
  18. Agreed. Kurtz and Shanes have arguably over performed. Andersen Holder and Klindt performed as expected. KK and Newman scored slightly more than half what they would have been expected to achieve, and that combined with injuries and the fact that Poole for once have been unable to come up with good replacements (in terms of injury replacement for Kurtz and KK, and "permanent" replacements for kK and Klindt) has meant they've gone from favourites to struggling to make top 4.
  19. Lebedevs Milik and Laguta are all riders I'd happily see in the series, would be competitive and the first two especially are exciting racers. Obviously will he cheering on Cook and would also like to see Zagar finish top 3.
  20. Thing with Starnan is he gets ideas into his head that he thinks are funny and repeats them over and over. At the moment it's Brum and sleep. Before that it was Orion and walking to Poole. Before that SCB and sheep (I think). Then his random comments about The Doctor and a Chris Holdef shirt. And for a while the line was "don't dance to anybody else's tune.End of the day the bloke is a moron.
  21. But also look at the quality of racing produced by these riders. Can you name even one world final where the racing was as good as at Mallila on the weekend? I've watched every world final that is available on DVD or YouTube and would suggest none come close.
  22. I guess the difference was that the "number 8" would only be called up a handful of times a season, not riding full time on both leagues.I'd also suggest that the proportion of overseas riders, at least in the top flight, has not significantly changed since the 80s. In fact I'd say there are far fewer sub standard foreigners - I recall the likes of j verner ondrasik noer hdriniak righetto and Eastbourne alone one season (83?) used at least half a dozen rubbish foreign riders
  23. May actually help his chances of getting a wildcard for next year assuming no pole gets through from the challenge?
  24. Could you explain why age is an issue, given that he has won three world championships while in his 40s? Not a stand out individual, though you could argue on form this season that the likes of milik lebedebs a laguta and a few others are better than say holder and pederssnBut I can definitely see a scenario where the 4 wild cards are given to riders in the series this year. In fact it would be possible to have the exact same line up next year if the likes of pawlicki zagar and vaculik took top 3 in the challenge, though I'd say that's unlikely.
