  1. I find it nearly impossible to believe that you had conflict with opposing fans. But if this is true I'm sure no one on the forum has any doubt where the blame lies. I'm surprised Brum and his uncle haven't been banned from Monmore...
  2. Or maybe Somerset shouldn't have booked him knowing he had another meeting first where there was the risk of injury?Though you could argue it makes sense to use a rider already there and who should be dialled in to the conditions. Just one of those things.
  3. On top flight form: Bellego, Perks, Howarth, Bewley B Kurtz Cook deserves a mention for his form in GP qualifying. What is staggering for me is the amount of criticism he seems to be copping for "not fulfilling his potential".The guys 19, look how long it has taken someone like Janowski after winning world u21to really make a mark. That said I thought lambert might average a point more this season, but he's not been helped by Holders poor form. He does need to improve his gating though if he is to be better than an Andy Smith/Harris - both of whom have had fine careers, but Lambert had the potential to comfortably surpass their achievements.
  4. Horror track. Meaningless qualifier for the knock out cup. Snide jibe at multi FBer Steve BrumBrumBrum. Did I mention wobblers on this horror track? How am I doing?
  5. And it's all very well saying riders should go part time, but as soon as a rider suffers a string of engine failures or misses a meeting due to work commitments, you can guarantee fans will be asking for him to be replaced.
  6. And pairs titles with 5? different partners. And under a gp system could well have been b2b world champion. So I agree it's not clear cut. With the other PC you can argue there could have been more world championships to come, though conversely I think the commonly held view on here is that under a gp system he would not have been a double world champion. But Tai has two gold plus a silver in the individual title. His performance last year in the World Cup surely compares with any of PCs maximums. You can debate forever and people won't agree, and that's part of the great thing about such discussions. But even if Tai is not the greatest (yet) he is certainly alongside those greats from the past.
  7. often disagree with you, but on this i agree. Tai along with PCx2 is one of three riders with a genuine claim to be considered the best post-war Brit imo (specifying that to avoid debating on the merits of Tom Farndon etc.) A world title, or even podium sport, would imo place Tai as a clear number 1 on that list, and I say that as an Aces fan (albeit one from the post Craven era, and only saw PC when he was past his peak). And agree, meeting was poor, but Tai produced some great passes.
  8. NoYes, but I think it is better now than it used to be Yes No, but restrict to Brits and avoid clashes by having fixed race nights. No
  9. In one meeting alone one mistake cost Tai about a dozen points. It allowed Doyle to make the semis and meant Tai missed out (or got a poor gate pick) which saw Doyle gain an extra 6 points and Tai miss out on a likely half dozen points. Similar thing happened at Cardiff, but for a handful of errors Tai would be leading the championship. That said on Saturday he did look quicker than he did all season, but part of that must also be riding with the confidence that your engines are fast enough to do the business.
  10. Not sure it is just loyalty. Who is there better on a 2pt average?
  11. Surely No way will pawlicki get a wildcard with 4 poles already in
  12. Which would you say are worst: Personal attacks or attacking a group of nearly 2 billion plus people because of the actions of a small minority within that group?FWIW I thought Iris post was tongue in cheek but...
  13. But the issue isn't doubling up per se. The issues could be reduced by better fixture planning and entirely avoided by going to fixed race nights.
  14. I would suggest the reason for the 10 race factor is that while double headers are quite commonplace I can't think of any triple headers?
  15. I imagine they propose doing away with doubling up with immediate effect...
  16. Do you consider rugby or cricket to be major sports? Do you consider rugby or cricket to be major sports?
  17. Does anyone really think promoters are getting rich from speedway?!?! They may do an awful job running the sport, but the sport wouldn't exist without promoters and I would have thought more would be losing money than making it?
  18. Surely farcical would be ignoring the rules, or making up new rules just before the playoffs?
  19. Nobody, as the fixture planners will no doubt schedule it for a date when none of those riders are available, so guests/r/r will be used instead.
  20. Actually I believe that the rider will simply ride for both teams. On heats where he is out for both teams he will be considered to have a dead heat with himself and his points will count for both teams (e.g. If he finishes first both teams will get 2.5 points)
  21. Disagree. Woryna should increase his average by 50% if he comes in on a 4. something. Killer would adds 25% tops
  22. Not sure I agree re holder. Next year it will be 5 full seasons since he was world champ and he hasn't finished top 3 since then. His league form this year has been pretty poor everywhere.Hancock plus a Dane are nailed on. The question then is whether if holder finishes outside the top 10 of he has done anything to deserve a wildcard over riders who finish above him? Don't get me wrong I'd like to see him back next year and think he will get a WC. But I would say he is far from a clear cut pick. Hancock I agree with 100%
  23. Woffy 10 more Emil 30 more Dudek 30 more Smoli 20 more Zagar 20 more
  24. Disagree, he is a far better ridea now than when he was in the GPS 5? years ago. On form this year he us arguably the best rider not in the GPS. Not sure he will be top 10 but will be competitive.Would rate him higher than say Vaculik who currently sits top 8.
  25. I font see how you can say it might break the letter of the law.The law states a rider can miss a meeting for any reason. That's pretty clear and surprisingly unambiguous. I'd say it's also within the spirit of the law, which is that this is a development league and other activities take priority so I'm not sure how you can compare this to the holder situation, where quite clearly the rules were broken. I agree it's not particularly fair on IoW and could understand them being annoyed.
