  1. I did reply to your question the first time you asked me that. It was about a month ago so I was puzzled when you asked me again recently.Do you condone trolling?
  2. Can you show me the rule which says a retired rider is not elegible? Do you really think he is less competitive than say Jason Bunyan or some of the Italian riders over the years? Is he significantly worse than say Ellis or Bates? Were the world finals a farce when you had riders like Staristin and Ondrasik in them? Or do you think Watt is worse than them?
  3. So how can all teams build to 45 then? If you just use existing riders the average per team would be sub 40.
  4. Because in both cases the agreement was that GP placed would be given based on places in the national championship. So if someone won the British championship but then fell horribly out of form, you wouldn't want them to getvthe spot? Or if say they got injured and didn't ride between the brit final and Cardiff they should give up the spot? Out of interest Phil, do the reserves get everything paid for like the normal riders?
  5. so where are all the riders going to come from which will allow all the teams to build to 45 points..duh..do you think we will suddenly get lots of top riders rejoining the league?
  6. I'd say that depends who he is signing for....Though Poole fans seem to think Woryna will come in on his old EL average so Zagar should be the same
  7. Someone's going to be arriving on their white steed any minute to accuse you of bullying Gem!
  8. And if it goes to 12 teams and the limit was 45 you would have some teams only building to 35. Can you explain how I think that helps the competition?
  9. So I presume you also think it's a farce that the winner of the British championship gets a place at Cardiff? Long retired? 6 months. Poor form. Yes, but good enough to finish 3rd ahead of the likes of Kurtz and Morris in the Aussie champs.
  10. Bit of course a rider can miss an NL fixture due to equipment issues - just not this particular meeting
  11. tbf, a rider can miss a normal NL meeting for any reason - schoolwork, fancied a night in with the missus or a few beers at the pub with his mates etc. its just these rules apply to BSPA shared events..which on one hand is understandable, on another not so much
  12. Agreed. sorry, my post was in reply to alan jones who said that we could fill 17 teams in one big league. i agree that Leicester and sheffield are relatively evenly matches.
  13. Nice in principle but how do you cover the extra cost? What if your number 1 is out and your squad cover is. NL rider. Do the increased number of riders without a team place just drop out of the sport?
  14. But the disparity in ability between top and bottom won't make for good racing. And the further dilution in quality will imo drive more fans away
  15. 2017 had 4 changes from the previous season so not sure you can call it "stale"? And not sure you could call the form of bjerre or any of the Brits stake either? Team composition will be dependent on the points limit - if it goes to 12 teams I'd imagine it would have to be around 40? Unless someone who rides the NSS well is available on a bargain average (holder, kK?) then I'd imagine just 1 or 2 changes needed.
  16. Surely repeated exclusions under the two minute rule would also be a ban, looking at the Chris holder ban as a precedent?
  17. It's the first one. Unless anyone thinks it's a coincidence that Masters won and got the wildcard, Sedgemen came 2nd sand got first reserve slot and Watt came 3rd and was given the 2nd reserve slot? So basically you had no idea on the facts and decided it was an opportunity to have another dig at the GP series... Meaningless? Seeing who gets crowned world champ, who finishes on the rostrum and who qualifies for next year. Yes, very meaningless!
  18. Yeah imagine saying that the wild card spot and reserve berths would be based on performance in the national champs, and then actually doing just that. What a mockery!
  19. Have the programme in my sleep out at home. Unfortunately that's in NZ and I'm in Singapore. If by December you're still needing details pm me and I'll see if I can dig it out when I go home for Christmas.
  20. Surely the asvantage of Monday is that unlike Wednesday it does not clash with Denmark and it seems to be a night favoured by TV. And all clubs seem to have been able to run on a Monday for to fixtures.
  21. I'd say purely because no one has challenged it through the legal system. If anyone did I would say it has 0% chance of continuing. It's basically a system where there is a zero hour contract scheme but restraint on working for anyone else
  22. Wasn't Ole co promoter at Vojens while a rider Seem to recall Ivan complaining about Oles influence at the 81 inter continental final when ole was a promoter and the meeting was completed despite riders voting 14-2 to abandon it (Ole was one of the 2)
  23. Have watched a couple of meetings on DVD recently from Hyde rd in the 80s run in wet conditions- the 83 overseas final and sn early 86 league cup match. If you were told that that was arguably the best race track of all time I doubt you'd be tempted to attend another meeting -very much from the gate.Stopping cancellations would be a good thing, but only if the solution means meetings can be run in good conditions. I still can't believe an affordable covers system hasn't been devised - wouldn't help if it rains during the meeting but would if the rain was in the lead up to it.
  24. Surely if the league goes to 12 teams the point limit is more likely to be 40-42 than 42-45?
