Gp Qualifier Sat June 7th @ Berwick
waiheke1 replied to screm's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Why knock hans? Still one of the best riders in that field. Why shouldn't he express his thoughts? -
Sweetheart you forgot to mention that he also possesses the genius of Einstein, artistic talents of Michaelangelo and ability to unite a nation of Nelson Mandela, as well as the good looks of a young Brad Pitt. I haven't been this excited since that wonderful minute and a half we spent in your parents' garage last month. Yours Soaking wet in Leicester

Of course if u ditch the playoffs the number of meaningless meetings increases massively

Tbf as an aces fan I would have happily had morton pc or ross shed a point or two off their bl average in exchange for them being world champ I note also the amount of whinging from "supporters" about riders lacking loyalty. And the same people urging riders be ditched whenever they have a dip in form. I note also the amount of whinging from "supporters" about riders lacking loyalty. Tbh, the best thing for tai this year may have been to ditch the el, but he strikes me as someone prerty loyal to wolves, and as the first british champ in 13 years im sure he felt some sort of obligation to ride in the uk.

Coventry V Wolves 6th June 2014

I would imagine that riding in all three leagues thus season, as opposed to two last year, with also the added commitment s being world champion brings, has to take a toll. Id also imagine that his uk bikes may not be as good as his polish and gp bikes - does peter johns tuning workload run to doing all the bijes for all riders in his "stable. " -

Yes. So Henry s statement that the issue with holding the meeting on Sunday was entirely due to Berwick, and nothing to do with the Polish clubs was correct, and not garbage as some were saying. -

I gave up after the 6th heat. I missed the first heat though, apparently there was a pass in that one (missed by the bet365 cameras though) -

Ludicrous. Most heatleaders, including number 1s, have dropped their sverage this year. Why would wolves wsnt to ditch pawlicki for lindgren? why would the world champ deliberately underperform. Why not bring lindgren in now if thsts the plan, likeky need a diuble swap anywsy? By the time tai has aversge low enough to bring lindgren in for pawlicki (assuming single change) play off chsnces will be gone do the point would be? -
So three of twelve of your meeings would have had a different result if the reserves on both sides had scored the same - that's in line with the run rate for the competition as a whole.

Timber?

Just got my bet365 account set up to watch this, not a good meeting for an aces fan! The only positive I can find is that they seem to be playing modern music!
-
The fact they have the strongest heat leader trio and most improved second strings in the league doesn't have anything to do with them winning then?

And the award for most ironic post of the year goes to...

I thought bates wasn't allowed to sign for a team and could only be used as a guest? Bit harsh on swindon if he can sign for another team.

Belle Vue National Stadium
waiheke1 replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Without being negative,, is that really "concrete news." While I guess it is positive news, the fact that it still doesn't have planning permission seems to indicate someway to go before a usable stadium - 2016 at the earliest? -

That would be the nick morris averaging two points per meeting higher thsn ben barker in the el this season? -
Kings Lynn V's Birmingham Thurs 05/06/14

So the claim above re the 84 side is wrong? Looking at the keague table for 84 kl won 15 and lost 15 so winning ten on the trot seems unlikely, unless referring to home wins only? -

Leicester closed in 83 hence his move to lynn Thats a pretty average team - the 84 one - to win ten on the trot. Were there a large number of home wins in there? Certainly not a patch on the aces/witches/heathens teams that season. Anyone hsve details who they beat? -
For any brit, other than the chsp defending the title, to win this year, they will need to beat the reigning world champion to do so - so I think its fair to say it still means something. You are right though haza, in the 70s if the world finsl was at wembley the top four would typically go direct ftom the british final to the world final. The same applied to swedes and poles in their years ss final host (though I think the poles may have picked their riders to be seeded).

British Final 2014
waiheke1 replied to Julie Browne's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
So wolverhampton itself isnt nice, but its near some nice places is that what you're saying? Pretty sure scb lives in cardiff - which is a brilliant city based on my visits there. -

Looking af the crash, can only assume fisher picked up a little extra drive and just utterly miscalculated his line - maybe josh g cornered slightly slower than he anticipated? Ive never seen a crash like thst before tbh, where a rider has just gone full steam into another. Really bizarre. Hope both riders make speedy recoveries.
