Well you covered one aspect, being on TV more is likely to equate to more sponsorship. Additionally I expect the viewing audience for GPS is substantially larger than for the euros -

Poole will finish top two, surely its the aces who are your rivals for a place in the playoffs? -

Don't understand bees fans critical of king. He's a 6pt rider, so you'd expect probably 7 @ home and 5 away (maybe less as a hl as does hus average include some meetings as a second string?,)He scored 5 against one of the better teams in the league? And people whinging about mountain being used,,? I remember juniors being used to replace number ones back in the good old bl days (rob fly replacing s Moran stands out). -

Great result for aces. BUT why didn't s worrall take nielsen%s 4th ride? A point there could have been the difference -

Pks new average effective next week is still well below steads assuming the latest green sheets are correct. You ate right of course that maybe he doesn't want bookings, as otherwise he would presumably have been guesting a lot rather than schlein, Lawson etc. -

Tbh I think you could host a 3 test series against the Aussies and Danes and it at least break even. Surely not unrealistic to get 2000 paying customers @ £20 each? I reckon that would cover the riders, and then series/meeting sponsorship to cover the other costs? Both Danes and Aussies could field teams from riders based here, do only tai would need to bring across bikes from Europe. -

Just use him as much as possible in may til the next averages come out. -
Tbh I think everyone knew he would struggle as a hl, he is an OK 2nd string but 3-4 is all I would expect from him riding in hl position. Would expect him now to start averaging around 6.

Was talking with regards to rumour that Richie would be a replacement in the squad for Simon, rather than this fixture specifically. PK would have been nice for this one. -

Absolutely correct. Pk, schlein, bech, Lawson, king etc. all could guest and would be stronger options. -
Think kl fans being too harsh on their team: Lambert clearly flying Schlein averaging about a point more than last year, and the top "3rd heatkeader" in the averages. Nki still in top 3 of el averages Porsing only marginally down on last year's average. Kerr averaging a point less than last year, but with tougher opposition. Leaves two riders underperforming bjerre who is averaging a couple of points less than you'd expect and morris who is bottom of the ftr averages. Wouldn't ditch either of the though, partly due to loyalty to riders andpartly due to absence of better alternatives.

Surely the aces are stronger using guests (inc worrall) for stead, rather than bringing Richie in as a replacement -

Would be great to see England having a test series against the Danes - even if it was a "UK based" Danish team, so domething like nki bjerre Hans bech kilderman michelsen bjarne and porsing. a full strength England team (I.e. including tai and Nichols) could at least make a decent battle of it. This particular match is certainly a clash of the two top test sides in world speedway. -
Plenty of other sports have similar systems - rugby, cricket even football's away goal rule. Agree fully with scbs op.

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
waiheke1 replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Agreed. Which is why it would be ludicrous for British speedway to adopt a similar policy in regards to tai. -
Tbh I think the strongest rr reserves this year means those riders are getting tougher heats than last year anyway, without diluting the standard of el. And if having a good night they can replace second strings anyway. Can't think of any decent Brits except possibly richie worrall, without an el team place. Personally next year I would like the rule to be three Brits minimum, inc two who are elegible for ftr. Revert to 1990 BL format and allow for riders to progress to top 5 slots during season if their average warrants it.

Guest or r/r for stead? Aces second strings should (hopefully) be the difference. Tempting fate but aces by 8. Hope we go r/r. -

Tbf, the allblacks won't pick anybody not playing domestic rugby (NPC/super15) in Nz. To ensure 1. Quality of domestic competition 2. Availability of players for training camps and internationals. But we have the quality in depth, and the all black Jersey retains sufficient mana, to make this work. The same wouldn't work for the all whites for example -

Robins Vs.the Kings Lynn Stars
waiheke1 replied to Crazy robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Bjerre last season was about a point worse than the likes of ward and zagar. I actually think that shows his average was about what you would expect in this format, whereas I agree you would expect woffy to average at least a point more. Clearly his away form this season is very poor, but I don't think there are better options to replace him. Certainly you'd be better trying to find a six pointer to replace porsing than a 7 pointer to replace bjerre if you are wanting to strengthen. -

Only meeting I've been to when we left before the end. Think we assumed it would be called off after a crash around heat 14. -
Surely it will go up by a point and a half? Which would likely offset any decrease in holder/north. Which won't give enough spare points to get in ward for magic without other change/s.
