Coventry Bees V Poole Pirates 10th April 2015
waiheke1 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
With the new format even number ones can have the odd shocker, and hans would have scored as many as holder if not for ef. Schlein and newman were really where poole won it, coventry hl actually matched pooles, albeit from a couple more rides. good to see starman has ditched "not dancing to anyones tune" as his catch phrase in favour of sheep comments. Wonder what he will come up with to use in every post next week. -
Swindon V Lakeside Thur 9th April

Markyb - so what would you suggest when a side has 4 injured riders? A full second team of squad members willing to commit without any retainer or income guarantee? Put out 4 juniors? -

Is Rich Lawson The New Harry Kane?

I thought the same as you scb, and could only see his average dropping as a heat leader. Has proved me wrong so far this season, along with nicholls the form brit of early season -

Wolves Vs Belle Vue Tues 7th April
waiheke1 replied to lino wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
you would expect a good second string to score above his average (note the 6.21 EXCLUDES bp) @ 2nd string, but score below it riding as a heat leader.the aces were four points short, imho you'd want cook and nielson to each score two more than they did. You could also argue that youd want zagar to hit double figures, but thextwenty he and nicholls scored is sbout right. Fricke stead and worral also scored around what you'd hope for away from home imho. -

i'm not disagreeing with your argument, and hindsight shows you were right (to be clear, i understand you were saying this before heat 8) - just offerring a reason why it was not illogical to keep him in.As for lindgren - personally i think there is quite a difference between not swapping a reserve, and replacing a heat leader. -

tbf, heat 8 would have been the one bates got replaced in. He had 5 from 2 rides at that stage, blackbird 2+1 from 2, so u can understand bates being kept in. -
I think norbold has paid him not to release a statement, as he knows a statement will add a hundred pages to this thread and put his hole record under threat.

Just go to his website. He has quite an anti BSF rant on it so I can see why he got banned. Mad as a hatter that one.

Wouldn't have been anywhere near as much fun watching Andy Smith if he could have gated though! -

Oldace - as a belle Vue fan I was hoping you could clear a couple of things up for me. do you know the surname of the rider called declan who I now understand was sponsored by the Eccles tourism board? And were Peter and Louis actually cars? I might need to revisit my old programmea as this thread has raised a lot of queries. was John Titman a real name, a description of John or some kind of sponsorship deal?

though neither bryan Robson or Shearer ever made a world cup semi final.I don't think it's fair to say England are rubbish, but they are a tenth in the world type side, not world beaters, and that has been the case pretty much my whole lifetime.

Ivan is still very well regarded, but I'd be amazed if he was voted third greatest kiwi. Certainly amongsthe the greatest motorcyclists/motorsports participants he'did be top three, but not all news (or even no sportspeople).
