Belle Vue V Poole - 29 June, 2015
waiheke1 replied to Aces51's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If zagar scores double digits aces by six. If zagar has a mare, poole to win. Pretty evenly matched, though would hope fricke should comfortably outscore gimolski to make the difference -
Do "they" know gustix though? Is john hyam your name or the name of your sponsor?

2015 Speedway Gp Challange
waiheke1 replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Who do we think will be the wildcard s for the challenge? Zmarzlik and ward? Emil? Of those confirmed would be happy to see Harris lindback and baby pawlicki go through. Ward Emil hampel and killer as wc. Top 8 of tai Nicki Greg puk zagar holder magic and aj? -
Pre world war there were only 3 world finals, and no multi-time world champs. The majority of most people's top 20 would consist of riders with two or more crowns. And of course events such as world pairs, wtc/wc, blrc are more recent phenomenons with results readily accessible .And of course, which is probably your point, there is a natural bias towards riders we have seen racing ourselves. Of my list of 20 I'd say there are around 15 names which would be pretty much unanimous. But others such as gollob, michanek,Lee etc. could easily be replaced by riders from earlier years by those with a better knowledge than I of those eras. Norbold - when the "who would have won GPS had they been in place" discussion was had on this forum, do you recall who were identified as being likely multi world champs? Recall duggan was but not sure about the war years and earlier?
-
Norbold - I think the ones who won world champs post war are "safe" as the world championship is really the barometer of success. So I think the likes of fundin should remain safe, just as say pele will always remain on the list of football greats. And certainly those from 70s on should have no issues, as decent video footage exists.

Anyone else's irony meter just explode? -
My 20 would be (not in order): Briggs mauger Moore Collins Lee craven funding michanek knuttson t Rick Hancock penhall gollob Nielsen gundersen Olsen n pedersen j crump young duggan
-
T Rick and crump would be top 10. Greg Nicki and gollob top 20. If tai wins this year I'd add him to the list.

No real desire to get rid of josh, but if you could get Hans or bjerre on the same average it would be a mo brainer. Won't happen I know -

If hans's average drops to say 6.5, could the aces fit him in to replace josh g? Given that bees fans don't want him? -

It's the case almost every meeting and has cost the aces points this season. -

Call yourself a proud Brit, what about harris? Or does his nickname make you think he,s joined the "dark side"? -
Lakeside V Kings Lynn 19.06.15
waiheke1 replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What do you mean lakeside were not notified he was in the race? It was one of his scheduled rides? Either way its not Lakeside's responsibility, his own team manager should have picked it up. Edit. Or was he a r/r? -
If they had pre purchased tickets I'm sure considerably more would have attended regardless of the weather.

Belle Vue V Coventry Bees Monday 22nd June
waiheke1 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Why oh why was worrall not given one of Nielsen's rides? Could be the difference. If we scrape home think we have garritys engine problems to thank. Coventry should have got rid of Hans last week like the "fans" wanted! -
But the euro champs don't pay more,? And the only ones turning down GPS are Emil, and possibly g laguta? I think that's more to do with politics and polish contracts than fim pay rates Times may have changed but surely the ultimate goal is to be world champ?
-
Tbh I'd be surprised if they went out to lose More likely once the meeting was lost a "plan b" of getting troys average below 7? Scb- if he had won his 3rd ride, but then had two lasts (I.e. ridden in heat 15) would his average still have gone below 7?
-
Very puzzling. Who are the top riders missing: Darcy - entirely his fault Emil - entirely his own choice/that of his advisors Lagutas - didn't bother trying to qualify Kildermand - failed to qualify, probably lost out on a 50/50 call vs mjj for wildcard Vaculik - said he wanted a couple of years out of GPS? If your point is money, yes they probably should be paid more. But that didn't stop the world's top riders historically trying to be world champs. We have a qualifying system now which is arguably better than any previous system in terms of ensuring the strongest line up. So in your opinion what are fim doing so wrong?

Are u not familiar with Roberts views on tai? Not a fan is an understatement! -
Hasn't that been the system for some seasons now? All that has changed is it now has an official promoter?
