  1. Tbf Robert did indicate where his knowledge came from, simply didn't disclose his name which is fair enough.
  2. Would add also if Greg retires it just means 9th spot qualifies. Which then means aj would be very likely to get a wc if he finishes 10th. I'd rather have Greg
  3. We have zmarzlik and pawlicki as fresh blood. Who are you going to bring in that is going to be a medal contender like Greg? There isn't anyone when u take into account the likely wild card recipients
  4. he didn't retire, he said he wasn't going to race in britain. I understand his intention was to ride on the continent and would still have entered the world championship and represented England if he had been allowed. I stand to be corrected, I'm sure someone like oldace can confirm
  5. Sayfutdinov 11 - 13 MORE 1000 G Laguta 8 - 10 MORE 1000 Prem Pawlicki 6 - 8 MORE 1000 Protasiewicz 6 - 8 MORE 1000 Vaculik MORE 600 A Laguta MORE 600 Andersen MORE 600 Noted comments from Robbie B and R/R so hopefully I havent ended up just covering bets (have pruposefully not looked) - but if I have obviously the other betters can change their bets so they are not covered, I won't alter these ones (unless i have broken any betting rules like exceeding my maximum bet) thanks R&R
  6. While I agree that would be ridiculous, it is worth noting that that is exactly what happened to pc in 1981
  7. I'm happy to say he is not good enough to deserve a wc. And I say this as someone who was there to see his gp win - fair play to him, but he wasn't close to being the best rider that evening. The likes of mjj vaculik even aj would be much more deserving.
  8. For what possible reason would smolinski be a good candidate for a 2016 wildcard?
  9. Mark Crang certainly didn't manage a 2 pt average for the aces...That said Homer only managed a 2 pt average in his best season well short in the other two
  10. I think it's premature to say tai will definitely dominate. Retaining a gp title has proved very very difficult for some great riders. Çertainly a good chance he will though, and barring injury will surely start next year as a short odds favourite.
  11. And the dislike of tai therefore is the jealousy of a 2 pt Brit who didn't make it as opposed to a rider who is world champ? (Note: a 2 pt average is 2 more than I would achieve so not meaning to denigrate Mr Homer s record) Rode a total of 10 meetings for Coventry/Sheffield in late 80s early 90s
  12. And Midlands location would also seem to fit? Would the ten meetings he rode be enough to tally with Robert72s posts? And did rob homer mechanic for two world champs?
  13. Sam masters as runner up in Aussie champs? J crump or Emil would be great. Otherwise Morris Kurtz or fricke
  14. I thought 72 for year of birth too, but couldn't think of any riders that matchedRob ledwith was 71
  15. Given he said he raced against mark loram I would be very surprised if he was racing in 1972.Rob Tilbury and Robbie fuller are two "Roberts" from lorams era if Robert is his name
  16. Play off Kenny Slow Freddie Basically anyone from the bottom four teams apart from aj puk and Doyle.
  17. Nielsen won it in 86. Do u want heat details or to buy it? I can do the former but not the latter (have a copy but don't want to sell).
  18. Fair enough chr, just wondered why you think luck evens itself out?
  19. Mauger always had better equipment than his rivals. Penhall Nielsen gundersen Lee always seemed to have bikes that were quicker than anyone else's. To be world champ you've always needed a combination of ability, mental toughness and good equipment - not much has changed.
  20. As an example: how would u say Kenny Carter's luck in world championships evened out? Dave jessups? Tommy Knudsen's?
  21. Luck is not cyclical nor does it even out. That is an utter myth.
