Does Swindon really have a housing crisis?
-
But it's been pointed out multiple times on here already? If converted EL averages were used, then Newman would be the top ranked tier one rider, meaning Poole would have last pick of tier 2 riders. If PL averages are used, Poole would get 2nd or 3rd pick of the tier 2 riders. I think it's fairly obvious that Ellis wouldn't be the last picked draft rider, therefore the second scenario is what has happenned. Re %s, I think so long as a vaguely reasonable % was used (anywhere between 45-65% could probably have been justified), then there may have been some debate, but i think most would have been quite happy. What does twitter have to do with anything?

Zengota King Barker summers Robson? Seriously I think bjerre or kk could be regarded as good signings. Zengy as number one would be an awful start to team building. Hardly in the mould of Olsen or Knudsen, or even Harris or Andersen.
-
Emil dudek zmarzlik King and Barker is what I'm expecting. Either that or King bjerre summers Barker Robson. I think bees fans may end up genuinely hoping for the return of kk, who in fairness can surely not be as awful as he was worldwide in 2015.

How were the pl averages the "most real"? Surely they are inflated, otherwise the 0.6 multiplier wouldn't be needed. Why couldn't a multiplier instead have been used for el averages, which are surely the best indication. One team has benefitted, and only that team's supporters are defending the rule. And they gain twice - extra point available for team building and a better tier two pick. It's a ludicrous decision. I thought people didn't need to provide proof? Seem to recall you throwing a tantrum when asked to back up your statement that Newman would have been in the poole 1-5 last year even if not in the draft. Or proof that Nicki was coerced into wearing Darcy kevlars. Anything yet to support your claim about vatcher being responsible for the draft?

garritty will clearly score less thsn last season, so commonsensr would be to expect a sizeable increase in points money. if harris goes as well, who are bees looking at? bridger to be tempted out if retirement as number one? just make sure his bikes ate sorted and he knows he will be riding as a heatleader!
-
howarth is on a 5.5 average surely? if u get a decent number 1 you might have a reasonable team. but surely freddie pk and joonas will all be ckassed as hl? in which case you cant add a good numbrr one unkess you ditch pk? and joonas over pk not neccesarily worth the extra points?

tbf tgere have been some very mediocre u21 champs over tge years. but since emil in 07 we have had ward, magic, dudek, pawlicki and zmazlick, none of whom would have been out of place in gps the following year.
-
whats your guess of a wolves side likely ti get close to the limit? would be pkeasantly surprused for u if they do
-
u21 champ would struggle? look at the winners the last 8 years and tell me which of those would have been worse than riders who quslified through the gp chsllenge?agree re your hampel point though
-
youd have plenty left over with that team must come in sbout 39
-
woulld be an excellent side but fractiinally over i think.

monday, wednesday and non GP Fridays? The issue surely being not so much the non fixed race night, but the haphazard sceduling? EL Teams to have a proper schedule, one meeting per week with a handful of weeks reserved for postponed matches. EL to release fixture list, and have priority over PL for double up riders on those nights.

no way should either hans or dakota north be second strings. which makes me very surprised the proposal went through, as both would be bargains for poole on those average IF the three HL rule hadn't been introduced. Which makes me think that one of them is going to be classified as 2nd string, which would be frankly ridiculous.

Current year I have zagar at 16, who I would consider world class. But below that is prem pawlicki then aj, who I wouldn't. I'd say mauger 80 version is borderline, personally I'd say he was a shade below world class, but that's highly subjective.
-
i would imagine they have a touch under 32 points to build the top 5 with.
-
in fairness, Mauger in 1980 was still one of the top 20 riders in the world, which isn't something Harris could claim to be. And the commonwealth final did include 5 of the top 10 riders in the world, most of the rest were top 30, and all in the top 50. A stronger line up than the GP challenge by a decent margin. I agree with the ealrier parts of your post though. Penhall in 81 won the american and inter-continental finals, both with maximums iirc. missed out in the overseas final after a crash with Carter! he also won the world pairs. Penhall in 81 was by a considerable margin the best in the world, and that season IMHO surpassed anything Greg has produced. Put Penhall in GP series, and I think he would have been 2nd in 80, champ by a huge maring in 81, and probably just pipping Carter to the title in 82. at the same time i think some diminish Greg's world titles by assuming his latter titles are due to weaker opposition, whereas in fact I think he's actually just riding as well or better than in his younger days.

unless you are poole, and can get the pick of the tier one reserves on one of the lowest averages
-
if they are changing the heat formula, then draft riders will score far fewer points, so increasing the points money makes perfect sense surely?
-
Neal Watson posted it on the coventry thread earlier today. he should know you'd think? and howarths average is inflated, as he rode entirely as a second string (not as much as Newmans obviosuly). averaging 5.5 as a second string is statistically about half a point worse than averaging 8 as a reserve in this format. which makes it nonsensical that he will be 1.5 higher than Newman for team building. just as it is nonsensical that newman will be a point lower than garritty for example.
-
howarth is 21, which makes him younger than the majoirty of last year's FTR add Newman to that list and maybe a second Worrall so you don't think young promising brits should be allowed in the draft?
-
you would then apply a PL conversion. How many reserves coming in do you think did not ride EL last year? Maximum 1 or 2?
-
the logical thing to do would be apply a conversion to the EL averages for FTR, rather than PL average s- noone is saying they should come in on a 7-8 point average. it's hypocricy because poole fans have been defending the use of converted PL average for reserves, where clearly they are the side getting the benefit. when it appeared another side were getting the rub of the green, the complaints start. as it turns out, it seem howarth will come in on his EL average.
-
Stunning hypocricy. Every 2nd string also has am inflated average.Should have been a converted el average for all riders. And should be three Brits per team minimum. Looks like they are making sure all the best Brits have a team place and that is a good thing
