Wow! Coming from the only poster on here that seems to be genuinely racist and homophobic that is quite a claim...

Clearly any team needs their number one to perform or they will struggle. Personally think kk will be one of the better number ones this season

I think u spelt sowka wrong?

Seriously, every time something new comes out it makes the situation more shambolic.Last year proves though that Horton is unlikely to use the rule effectively. Poole on the other hand I am sure will strengthen effectively if needed...

my memory of bill barret is the worst visting rider i ever saw at hyde rd. Only saw him once, in 1982 (he was riding reserve for cradley), where he finished stone cold last in both races, but left a lasting impression on me. think that meeting is on youtube actually. but in 1987 he was still pretty rubbish - or certainly 86 he was still rubbish, possibly 87 was a bit of a "breakthrough year." i only saw him in his earlier days, where he was certainly pretty "wild" could be wrong, but i thoguht jan o's go kart accident was 90, and he missed u89 due to some other injury

Not going to quote the whole thing, but firstly thanks to Gordon Pairman for coming on here to explain. That said I have to take issues with a few points:

"Elaborate" is probably pushing it a bit!

You Shouldn't Call People Retards. It's Offensive
waiheke1 replied to SCB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You are so right star man. There were all those people thinking Jerry Hart had been released from jail, but you knew different didn't you.All those people thinking holder had said he'd ride for another club if Poole didn't offer him a spot, but good old Starry knew better. How do so many people get things wrong every single time? -

What spellchecker is available if u post on a mobile? My spelling is often atrocious on here, not because I can't spell but due to typos or auto correct, and 99% of the time I post on my phone. And tbh i generally dont check before posting. I'd be surprised if a large chunk of scbs posts are not also done from mobile. -
Kenny Carter, Question Confused
waiheke1 replied to Lestrade1983's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Type kenny carter into the search engine and you will find plenty of debate. I'd say minimum every two seasons this topic rears it's head. -
U don't think Doyle and Morris have improved since 2013? Yes aces are marginally weaker, but most other teams look a lot weaker. Coventry have a strong top 2, an average 3rd hl, but the weakest bottom 3 in the league. Poole still have to be favorites. Brady will no doubt get some time at reserve to boost his confidence, I would have no concerns there. If there is to be a change I can only see it being replacing watt with a stronger hl, and that would make u almost unbeatable over two legs.

Attempting To Create A World Speedway Rating
waiheke1 replied to khucke's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The most comprehensive rating system is I believe "dolgin's" which also uses a chess based methodology I believe. Sorry don't have the link handy. I have my own, somewhat less comprehensive system, but my list of top 25 riders can be found on here (In the international section). Your rankings certainly look closer to dolgin's, whereas my own attach additional weighting to gps. -
Well done you. Did you manage that all by yourself?

Hope he get's released before Jerran Hart!

A proud mother is watching her soldier son marching past in the company of his fellow soldiers. She notices that he advancing - left-right-left-right - while his fellow soldiers are going forward right-left-right left. She nudges the lady next to her and says, "Just look at that! Everybody is out of step except my Johnny!"

I think when you say you "can't be bothered changing arrangements " in order to watch the Newcastle matches where the tr rule is not in force (ie. The koc matches) it weakens your argument that the tr rule is the only factor. Surely if you still loved your speedway you'd cease the opportunity to go to those? End of the day you've stated your position so many times that regardless of the truth you can't back down now,and Noone categorically prove/disprove your statement either way.

I have a friend, who has a son with asperges, who shares your view on use of that word, so certainly sympathies with your pov. I would disagree that SCB was using the most offensive term he could think of (I'm sure his vocabulary is quite wide), and I think equally obvious that SCB meant no offense to people such as your son (SCB is happily offensive to people from all walks of life without discrimination)! So while the term uses was done so deliberately to attract attention, the meaning was clearly as a synonym for "thick/stupid" and nothing to do with disability. Maybe I'm thick, but I've worked in business for a number of years, and yet to see anyone suggest that publicly insulting our customers to cover our own inadequacies is a sound strategic move. So personally I think SCB was spot on with the thread and have no issues with the title, but can sympathies with those who object to the word choice.

Do u attend the Pl koc matches where no double point rule is in place? For your reference, 7 Newcastle home meetings last season saw double points scored, none of which altered the result. To stay away due to a rule which impacted 7 races over a season, with no impact on result, seems a little extreme IMHO. ..

Agree a very good post Dave, don't agree with it all, but well reasoned

Given the rumors about announcements surely it made sense for them to make a statement like the one they just did?

Shaun moran also surely should be on the 80s list
