  1. Why on earth was he not put into the Friday semi?
  2. Without a doubt. I'm trying to recall the other "new poster" recently who did the same mis spelling of usernames while posting in support of the forum idiots.
  3. Post? Why on earth are they posting refunds? It's 2016!
  4. Stop being alarmist, of course the bspa will have thought things through and have a plan in place. Anyone who doubts this is thick, ignorant or both!
  5. Mark Courtney never kicked on from his firm of 83 and 84. Joe Owen if he'd ridden more bl rather than settling for dominating the nl.
  6. Totally agree. Just stick Gustix on ignore and you'll find the forum a much better place.
  7. Perhaps the moderators could simply block the aliases "Gustix"and "Starman." That would improve the forum immensely.
  8. because he's a bitter and twisted old man, who gets perverse enjoyment from anything that goes wrong with speedway, and enjoys trolling this forum. Which is a real shame as someone with 60 years speedway experience could make a valuable contribution. If everyone sticks him on ignore, maybe he'll eventually get bored and go off and start trolling a banger racing forum instead.
  9. Crump finished 2nd at that overseas final Sid, his best performance at Hyde Rd in my time watching. . Was Egon Muller an underachiever? He overachuieved in terms of being a world champion when he was far from best rider n the world. BUT..he could have been a far better rider if he had committed more to speedway, and ridden BL.
  10. I was at Hyde Rd for that 15pt max in the overseas final, untouchable apart from his heat with s Moran when Moran had an ef while getting the better of a great battle.King could then have been the youngest ever world champ had he beaten gunners en in his final ride - I believe he anticipated the start but failed to drop the clutch and Erik was gone. He didn't return to the bl in 85 and never got close to the title again. Preston was very good in 82, genuine heatleader- did he then retire? You are right eastbound went from having an excellent hl trio (arguably bettered that season inky by the aces and cradley), to having an absolutely awful team in 83, even worse than the swindon team of that season!
  11. Lance king. Dennis siglos. Steve Lucero. Ron Preston.
  12. And Poole would have used lindback rather than watt surely if he wanted to race here.
  13. If Gustix and star man agree on something I'd be very tempted to bet the house on the opposite.
  14. Surely scbs is accurate, they won't give Jacobs one? Not sure rr weakens aces too much. Should still win by 10. Checked: scb is right
  15. OK but there is also a difference between signing a rider on an average, and that rider being expected to score to that average. R Worrell was just over 4, but he is a 6-7 point second string. To me that means he is not a 4/5 pt rider.
  16. It to put it another way: will b perfect for tai. Cook and Nicholls will have ridden it more than anyone. And will suit racers like lambert and Harris. Maybe tai needs to lend them his bikes like Ivan did in 79
  17. At the same time, could penhall have ever ridden better than he did in 81? I'd argue he fulfilled his potential, even if he didn't win as many titles as he could have.
  18. the issue isn't neccesarily the number of fixtures. Sweden and Poland manage fine on less. The issue is the income those fixtures generate, which in turn impacts on what can be paid to the riders. I'd still rather see the EL go to fixed race night, 8 or 10 teams racing each other once plus play offs. And teams potentially running also a PL side minus the "stars".
  19. this year's line up is pretty good to be honest, in terms of the form riders of last season making it in. You'd want Emil in for Harris obviously. Otherwise Vaculik maybe ahead of Jonsson? There's no rider on the qualifiers that stands out as being missed in the series, though I'd have loved to see Lambert qualify.
  20. So we finally have the track sorted, from all accounts it is excellent, and this is your response?C u next time.
  21. Kurtz only qualified because lambert missed out due to ef. Kurtz was also gifted a point due to kk crashing, otherwise would have finished on 8 like cook. Calling this a weak field is harsh when it is the strongest of the 4th quarter finals. Kurtz will go on to be a better rider than cook, but at the current time I would much rather have cook in my team than Kurtz.
