  1. So the ten:Tai cook lambert Harris Nicholls king s Worrall bates Ellis garritty/Clegg?
  2. Would relegation play offs be money generating, or money draining for the top flight side facing relegation?
  3. Yes I agree. My point was in response to a poster who said that proof that the meeting was run with urgency was that the riders were on track before the 2 minute warning went on. I would tend towards the opposite view, that the ref being quick to put it on indicates urgency.
  4. He is a wolves asset, but all that means is that in theory if he wants to ride in the UK it is for wolves.Unless wolves committed to pay a yearly salary, I can't see that the contract would compel him to ride for them unless he wants to.
  5. Hey if you were there u have a better idea than me, I fast forwarded on YouTube! My only point is that two minute warning in itself signifies nothing in terms of a meeting being run with urgency.
  6. would pick a narrow home win for wolves. would happily take a point.
  7. tbh, i'd sooner take journalist lessons from old Gluestix than speedway career advice from robert72...
  8. Hyde Rd in the 80s, got to go for Carter. All time, surely Briggs on the basis of his blrc record?
  9. If the ref takes ten minutes to put the X2 min warning on, then no, being on track before the warning does not signify urgency. Just as if the ref puts it on immediately after riders leave track after the previous heat, riders being out there after the 2 min warning doesn't signify a lack of urgency.
  10. Enjoyed watching the meeting delayed on YouTube, though can imagine it was frustrating live. Though track was dangerous but produced good racing -surprised to see Poole fans having a go at it, as that would seem to sum up the Poole track? Excellent display by lambert. Have to pick a piecszek lambert Fricke 1 2 3 now for the series? Hopefully prez injury not too serious.
  11. Oh ffs his point is blatantly obvious, are you really going to start trolling this thread as well?
  12. ??? His starting average is a handicap not a benefit, as presumably he has a genuine tolling average, and his rolling average from last season is lower than his scores this year. He is fourth in averages of edr riders this season, below Worrell Newman and Ellis, though the likes of Starke and Wright have had spells at hl and average not much less than howarth.Personally think he is the most disappointing edr this year so far.
  13. Zagar? Holder? AJ? Lindgren? Doyle? Kk? All being paid in shirt buttons? The issue is. How many will drop off the gates if we don't have those. Cost is one thing, but revenue is just as important.
  14. Probably not 1970-1980 though sid?Mort must be close, in fact both Mortons ahead of Carter over that period?
  15. Does this mean the concept of limiting the top flight to one or two race nights is gone? So we are envisaging a model with even weaker top flight teams? Not passing judgment, just wanting to understand the model being worked towards.
  16. Frick wasn't "drawn" to ride this weekend, this meeting has been scheduled since before the El fixtures and he was always likely to be in it.As for zagar, I'm sure the slovenian authorities scheduled it as they did just to spite Leicester....
  17. Why schedule the fixture on a weekend which clashes with a national championship and the u21 champs? Could have scheduled it against wolves for example who were unlikely to have a ruder competing in either. Stretches credibility to even attempt to argue that this strengthens the aces.
  18. Bout the same as a speedway star. I'd say one offers significantly better value!
  19. Aces by ten. Who can take r/r rides for wolves?
  20. Awful post.Would happily have him at the aces. He had an awful British final, all riders have had a shocker at times. As for gp, someone has to finish 15th or 16th in the world. Hardly pathetic to finish last in that field Harris has been an excellent and loyal servant of British speedway, and while he may not be the rider he once was he is still top hl brit in the El averages. Not sure what caused such a bitter post, unless you are just trolling?
  21. 3 or 4 points is still ludicrous, given that a tax sub can result in a 4 point swing. Maybe I'm cynical but I have little faith that this proposal will be a significant improvement. No idea why it would take 4 years to come up with such a proposal either?
  22. Tactical sub at 1 point down? Seriously? How does that keep things even? Twk will have a heart attack. I presume that is a piss take, they couldn't seriously propose that surely...Surely?
  23. Worrall is not under 21? Or are you dropping lambert to reserve?
  24. i think on a good day, the brits could steal 2nd. clearly weaker than Danes and Poles, but i think comparable to the aussies, swededs and rssians around the NSS. The Polish team looks fantastic on paper, but 3.4 are young and wont have ridden NSS before, and KK can have the odd off day - the track should suit them though. Can't see us finishing ahead if the Danes, with any luck the Danes will get nocked out before the final, but think they must be favourites to qualify from their (very tough) semi final.
  25. Norbold - in your opinion how would he compare with the mighty Mort round Hyde Rd? Seems their top flight record may be similar, though mort did once finish 2nd in the bl averages. Edge to mort virtue of his blrc triumph and holding the track record?
