Matt Fords Vision For The Elite League In 2017.
waiheke1 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Personally I think an El with two set race nights ala the polish/swedish model. If clubs want more meetings, allow them to run a Pl side also minus the top riders. Would give an expanded Pl, possibly needing to drop to 6 man teams to accommodate the extra clubs. Pl could run any night of the week, but El clubs would always have priority on riders in case of a clash. Sensible fixture planning should ensure this isn't an issue. -
Isn't that about 15k sterling they are sending to D'Arcy (including ckub donation).Which given average salary in Poland is about a third of the UK seems comparable, albeit from a much larger crowd. Given Torun were under no legal obligation to do anything, not sure how involving fraud squad would achieve anything?

Not entirely sure cook is out of firm either? Had the gp qualifying semi gone the distance he was well placed to qualify. In the El he is one of the top averaged brit hl.

2016 Speedway Gp Qualifiers
waiheke1 replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Dude kk and pawlicki have to be favorites, subject to who gets the wildcards. Assume one will go to a swede, Freddie or aj? The other could go to vaculik, hsmpel, Emil? Would love to see lambert fricke and dudek qualify. -
Swindon - Coventry 4.7.16 On Sky

Tbf most argued that Draft riders should be able to move up. And riding at second string means he's getting easier rides than in a more conventional heat format. What it comes back to is that coventry screwed up their team building by not having garritty at reserve and/or not having a stronger 2nd string than woryna -
2016 Swc Semi's And Final 29/30/july 2016

Predictions? Ill go danes and swede to qualify direct. Poles to edge out aussie and Russia in the play off. Gb to come 3rd on the final. -
Tbf you'd expect mads to be a very good 2nd string but a poor hl, and that's what he's been. If u replace him, surely it's with rory ?

Has anyone said Harris' league for is bad? I thought they had said he was bad in every other competition (and around belle vue)?

Meetings That Clash With The World Championships
waiheke1 replied to SCB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There is one. It's called excel. Or failing that, a ballpoint pen and a big calendar would do the trick. -
There are Argentians on the list. And a number of Americans, not sure if they are east coast. List as I understand it ranks all riders racing competitively. Which Canadian riders were u expecing to see?

Wow Hansen guesting for Iversen? That is going to be a hiding

Don't know about belle Vue bubble bursting. Batch in form makes a huge difference as it means the kl top 4 us as strong as anyone's, albeit with a weak bottom 3. Worralls both scored well, and zagar and Jacobs as you would expect. Frick scored a couple less than you'd hope. Cook and Nicholls scores look disappointing, but in this format, away from home 6 is a decent score away. Looking at their heats you'd maybe really have expected an extra 3 between them. A draw would have been a solid result. As it is aces still on track for a top two spot. Kl fans - happy to keep batch now?

2016-what To Do With Jarrick Hample
waiheke1 replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
A cynic would say hampel would be rushed back to reduce the likelihood of a non monster rider winning the title 😉 -
Kl are actually 1.7 over the points limit. So would have to be mads or batch as others have posted. And I'd guess when the next averages come out batchs average will drop too low to allow rory to replace him. So decision will need making quickly. But either way would be a gamble given rorys long lay off with injury.

In the last 24 hours I've liked posts by star man and speedibee...If I end up liking one from Robert72, I think the apocalypse will have arrived! -
OK what about basketball? Steven Adams shouldn't get picked for nz because he plays NBA and not in nz? our elite Olympic athletes shouldn't be selected if they compete predominantly in Europe? Digs about gavansfamily is a new low even for you. No, clearly quality of rider shouldn't be the basis for selection. .. What would you know, you never rode a bike.

So you go to watch Ronaldo play for Portugal, or Near for Brazil or Bale for Wales. And then you are surprised you can't watch them play in their domestic league. Would you say Bale is therfore bad for welsh football? Or acknowledge that participating at the top level you can,as well as maximizing earnings, is what top sports people aspire too?
-
I disagree. Sure maybe if the weather is bad cadual fans may stay away But mist sports are televised live, if you make the match day experience worth attending people will want to be there in person. With speedway, unlike other sports, you generally get a much better view of the whole race being there live, and of course the noise and the smell. Season tickets aren't cheaper because the people who buy season tickets are the hard core who will be there every week anyway.

How many reserve rides is a rider allowed? Woryna had 6 rides as it was, with no rr in operation would he have been allowed 7 to replace Wilkinson in an extra ride? -
But I doubt games are going to move from being online based. Maybe billing mechanism will change, but online vs offline there is only one direction that is heading.

Well you could always complain about them getting rid of oap concessions at Brandon or leaving the eu causing house prices to drop...
