  1. Personally think an English gp would sell our and have no detrimental impact on Cardiff. 12000 (?) is more than most gps get, an excellent race track and presume with the limited number of seats you could charge a premium and easily sell out.
  2. No way should tai be in the team. Lacks quality at this level, and lack of practice at the NSS will count against him. He should learn what putting your country first means to true professionals like Nick Pedersen and Greg Hancock.
  3. Excellent meeting, superb advertisement for the sport in Britain - packed, modern stadium, professionally presented, track was great with some top notch racing, fine performance by the British boys, and the best team deservedly won. Hard to ask for much more. Agree the race off was poor, we had the same issue in nz for the 2nd gp, the track was simply too "good" and riders could simply go flat out and there was little chance of being overhauled. Sounds like the rain hampered track prep. But it is the final people will remember and what a good meeting it was.
  4. Not far off! Great effort from the boys, Roscoe got it spot on. Anyone still think tai would have got his set up better if he had flown back at the last minute for the extra practice instead of testing in Poland as planned?Funny to see people giving Doyle grief, when so many were saying the same thing about gb being seeded. Suspect the comments about "weak gb" and "Denmark stronger without nicki" had more than a small element of wind up. In contrast with Rosco, lemon got tactics wrong on the night, and Josh ahead of Kurtz, Morris even batch was always dubious. Congrats to team gb.
  5. Even if that wasn't the rule, given that tai scored max points in his joker/ts ride, how would using it some otherway resulted in more points? Roscoe got it spot on. No idea what lemon was doing but he stuffed up big time. And not sure the swedes got their tactics right for the last 4 heats. Really? Unlucky for sure, but the right decision. Or who do u think should have gone?
  6. Tai and lambert Holder and Doyle Dudek and kk lindback and aj
  7. I don't believe you need to be an nz resident or passport holder to ride in the nz champs.
  8. OK happy to stand corrected. With the roof I guess there is no issue with October weather. Would think it being the final event could have a postie or negative impact on attendance depending on of the title was still up for grabs. Would be interested to hear from someone in the know (Phil rising?) whether it has been looked and why Cardiff has remained an early to mid summer date.
  9. Sid are you feeling OK? Just you've exchanged half a dozen posts with Witcher and you haven't called him a pr1ck once?
  10. With Starman? And Gavan? What a fun holiday that would be..
  11. British. Though definitely the most successful kiwi ever. No trolling KKS?
  12. So lambert has been comfortably better in UK, albeit fricke has no home track advantage.Lambert ahead in u21 champs. Fricke well ahead in Poland and Sweden. I'd say on balance fricke is ahead at this stage, but lambert is better than fricke at the same age. Both top quality youngsters, would argue lambert the better racer, but fricke at the certainly a sharper gater.
  13. There's a hotel room advertised on here (world cup final thread )which comes with a car park and is apparently across the road from the nss..
  14. Poland slight favourites imho. Ljung is one of the weakest riders in the field, whereas Poland dont (on paper) have a weak link.
  15. Race off A laguta Emil N Iversen L Madsen M Fricke J Doyle G Hancock R Fisher
  16. Out of interest, why do you think senior citizens are more deserving of concessions than say under 25?
  17. BLRC was always run in October from memory, and while the elrc is a pale imitation of that Hyde Rd fixture, I don't see any fundamental issue with an early October date.
  18. Out of interest how many disabled spaces do u think they should allocate. And if not filled how many days before the event would you believe it reasonable for them to release them to the general public?
  19. Remember the 80s when there were only 3 decent reams - USA Denmark and UK. At the end of the decade you could add Sweden to that list. Where's now you have half a dizen teams good enough to medal on a good day. Personally think the current setup is about right - out of 9 teams, 6 are good enough, and gives the weaker sides something to aspire to e.g. for USA making the play off is a success.
  20. Tbf if he had signed bees would be nailed on play off contenders. Kk Harris king garritty bates is at least as good as zagar cook Nicholls r Worrell Jacobs. The difference is woryna v Fricke and Sargeant v s worrall.
  21. Kk Harris king garritty bates is a solid base tbh. You just need to add a decent 3rd hl and a good reserve and you have a title contending team.
  22. Cardiff is not available in October. Melbourne would not be available earlier.
  23. Carter could certainly have won at Bradford in 85 had he qualified. Would have needed some luck with the draw, as gate 1 was a huge advantage pre interval.Lee - could have achieved anything had he not gone off the rails. 83/84 he was as good as any rider in the world, albeit not as consistent as hans, but for sure could have been a threat til late 90s if he was focused. Tai - a few seasons back people would have laughed if you'd said he would have two titles in the bag before emil or Darcy won one, now he's well on the way to title 3 and will almost certainly be regarded as the greatest ever British rider. Emil - I really hope he rejoins the series and wins a title, what a waste otherwise. as naturally talented as any rider since Lee.
