Why not just run the league as usual until everyone has done their meetings, then,,, pull 4 names out of the hat for the play-offs ? It means that everyone still has a chance, and if you've been blighted by injuries, etc. you might still have a fair chance. Keeps everyone interested until near the end.

A think Ash Morris spent most of the season in the main body of the team, although in a weak team.

Being top of the league gives you the added bonus of selecting, the team that 'you feel' will give you the easiest route to the next stage,,, doesn't always pan out like that tho.
