  1. or maybe even just keep signing 2 pointers on a temporary basis, until we find a decent one, but one things for sure,,, the conversation about it 'round the dinner table' won't be easy.
  2. Would that be classed as 'tax avoidance' ? Is it similar to when buying 'working' dog food from the supermarket (VAT free)? Who can prove if your dog is a 'working' dog, or a 'couch' dog and, how many folk have used this loop-hole to avoid paying their due's.
  3. A much improved overall performance from the Diamonds, Stevie and Matty looking 'sharper', Max very good in ht 2, a few points for Simon. TJ and Lasse very solid. Sheffield hanging in for a while, but, Howarth and Proctor dropped off after a promising start. Broc Nichol was much improved since last time, probly a big learning circle for Drew Kemp and the other Tigers. Some decent racing AND passing, but yes very cold, even I felt it.
  4. A think it was fairly obvious that Simon would/will struggle at Brough, although some may think that away, on bigger tracks points might come and he might chuck in a few points. He might be able to suss Brough and, should be given time, but he's on his average for a reason. I hate the editor.
  5. Well it might be big Dave, and you wouldn't want anything to break.
  6. Enjoy The point is that you don't have to have a combined team average much above 42 to win every match, in the land of the fairies
  7. THJ, the teams average is worked on the scenario of 14 heats (84 points/42 points each team),,, 7 riders x 4 races = 28 races ÷ 1 pair of riders = 14 heats,,, therefore there is no need for the team to average 45/46 to win each match, so Workingtons 42.79 combined average was capable of having won every match
  8. Having, Howarth, King and Proctor, a think you have a good start, a lot will depend on how your other 4 take to Brough. Newcastle have not been impressive at home yet, but its probly still like an away track for most. Hope Newcastle can start to click, but I wouldn't be suprised if it was a Sheffield win.
  9. But John,,, if the riders averages stayed the same, come the end of June, it would mean that they have under-performed. Riders averages are likely to improve as they are racing for more points. The averages work on being based on 42 points, so you average team, will score 42 points on average. So each team, on average, will have 4 points, (like free points), per match to absorb into their collective team average, so really, each riders average will increase by about 0.6. If a riders average does not increase, by say half a point, it would suggest that they are not performing to their previous average. So, come the end of June, if you have a spare 2 points to play with, you will be really struggling as a team. Although, it might be an idea to bring in a rider that has not ridden this season, on their false 'lower average', thats one without the 0.6 free increase.
  10. His mechanic told you where to go ?,,, thats nice. But, I agree with Dave,,, I think the lads need a little time to get into the swing of things. I think some are doing as well as expected, but one or two aren't.
  11. If the lads don't start pulling tha fingers oot, we will be below 40 and might fall off the bottom of the list.
  12. THJ,,, 6.64 for a Brit and, 6.48 for a foreign rider ???,,, Ludde is on 6.47, that would be a snug fit and, there was rumours on the terraces on Sunday
  13. If they miss the start, they've got a whole four laps to catch up.
  14. I see what you mean. but it's the same for all four riders, if your not ready to go when the tapes go, then sobeit. Touch the tapes, your out.
  15. Yeah, but even dirt is expensive these days, you spend a fortune on stuff to get rid of it and people want it back, you just can't win (unless you gate)
  16. Well if the rules haven't changed, am sure they will.
  17. If the referee can see a rider jump/move before he presses the button,,,, why does he press the button ? Could it be that a rider might be possible to react quicker than the ref has realised ?
  18. Back in its 'hay day', was speedway more relient on the perfect start, or better racing ?,,,, as now it seems most races are won leaving bend 2 lap 1 and not much racing nowadays.
  19. How would you fit him in ??? Must admit tho, I haven't been impressed thus far, but its a fairly new squad and not one that I would've cobbled together. After a couple of uninspiring home defeats, I think it a bit sharp to panic. Not sure about other fans tho. Also, I'm not a fan of the Lambert signing, but felt sorry for the guy last night, over trying maybe ?
