  1. Hopefully the weather gods are good to us and, we only get the track waterlogged after the walk.
  2. Yeah,,, something like that, but think its bridges not necessarily trains. Think I had O D'd on cider last night and was heading off into a different dimension.
  3. Dunno, but maybe that's a 'Dick Head'?,,, a love all them folklore story's about trains, ladders and black cats and stuff.
  4. See,,,posting again simultaneously,,,, maybe our brains are tuned in?
  5. Someone with a bigger heart than brain would help,,, does the heart rule the brain, or vice versa?,,,,
  6. A hope they've remembered a big box of fireworks for Sunday night.
  7. Hopefully a good turn out for Birmingham meeting and many can say goodbye to a place, that for a lot of folk is a big part of they're lives. As for next season, if there is someone out there to take the work load on and give it a go, great, but without a concrete plan to move on to a new home, I think it's just gonna be the same. Not enough folk want it, so it has to incur less costs. However, if it does roll on, al be there.
  8. Just had a quick look,,, Newcastle has averaged 38points home and away. So, if its £70 per point (ave) plus £500 on travel expenses, that's not far short of £6000 + the £3000 for other meeting costs, that a lot of £17's per home match needed.
  9. Not that it matters a jot now, but in general the crowds look smaller, but I wonder how many of the missing crowd payed or didn't pay for entrance?
  10. Yeah, think I posted just at the same time then had to rush out.
  11. Dunno what the difference would be in the wage bill,,, would the same amount of fans paying less cover it, or would you get less fans paying less, or more fans paying less?
  12. Thing is tho, you mention Eastbourne and Birmingham. NL might be they're level, would Newcastle fans accept that?,,, Eastbourne and Birmingham wouldn't be good form to go off.
  13. 1 step forward and 2 steps back?,,, excellent theory, doesn't sound like it would work, but you'd be surprised.
  14. A wouldn't have thought so, whilst theres dog racing rights. Also, a don't think the speedway is keeping the stadium afloat.
  15. But that's a big problem, Brough isn't everyday of the week, it's one day access. There is guys in on a Saturday evening, all day Sunday and even Monday mornings. A don't suppose the majority will see the amount of graft being put in just to get the track available.
  16. I sort of get what you say, but as THJ was saying, its about leaving Brough and finding a new venue. IMHO, racing from Brough will never move forward or be sustainable, worrying each season as to whether you go on the next, also track/stadium access/availability probably loses, or involves costing in it's own way. Bit a bit if a silly idea, but would a temporary track share work, with say Redcar, whilst a new home could be found?
  17. Good idea mate, probably won't be able to make the bar, (will be busy),,, but as mentioned the the 'GoFundMe' raised good money. Wouldn't be able to stump up much, but if there was 100 of me we might get somewhere. Al be good for the cash (ask Rob). Keep us in the loop and I will work on some of the guys, which might be persuaded to put a little bit in, av managed it before.
  18. Even tho it would be like clarty rags to someone like that, but Mr. Ashley has probably got where he is by selling inferior products to a lower end market. In a place the size of Newcastle, struggling to get 500 fans for speedway, it would probably not be worth looking at, IMO,,, Supply and Demand.
  19. Think it will be an emotional time, but one to be savored. The world will still be spinning and, for Newcastle Speedway,,, the only way out, is to get out. Hopefully a new home can/could be found, but the current situation is akin to a money pit.
  20. Lots of folk still say to me,,, 'speedway, is that still going?,,, never see it advertised anywhere'. Lots of folk I know still go to the post office and the chippy.
  21. Did someone take the place of the other lad that had fell in the first match?
