  1. it might pay for you to attend a pre-season staff meeting, or approach the management/promotion and present any proposed plans you have to alleviate the situation. With a bit of persistence you could make tracks.
  2. it won't work because, its a new idea, so won't work,,, it never happened in the past so it is bound to fail
  3. See, the Panthers didn't need Holder today afterall,,, "well done, the boss".
  4. but it is a very vague statement, who are 'all the parties' ? maybe now Panthers fans will be saving their money in August, but whats happening in September ? 'Club for Sale'
  5. and at leat the Panthers are getting something back out of the season.
  6. maybe they could use people doing community service, or council tax evaders. so at least their putting something back into society
  7. yeah, a suppose some would when they felt like it.
  8. its a great idea, in theory and, it might be a few hundred quid thru the turnstiles. Which would go towards paying or hiring the squad that comes in. If the volunteers don't come and pay to get in, you still have to pay the other lot. Thats where there might be a problem, unless they get paid in 'free speedway', as that is the product. If you work on a dairy farm, you can drink as much milk as you like
  9. exiting bend 2 with the wire fence fast approaching, if you've got the skill to stay on, a would stay on.
  10. ya joking Dave, you spend more time away than Christopher Colombus if anyone fancies a cheap cruise, just get a lend of Dave's 'Fred Olsen loyalty card'.
  11. ok, sorry, I thought you were qouting a post regarding the incident at Newcastle.
  12. if he was behind the other 3, who was he endangering ? he wasn't excluded anyway, I would have been suprised if he was. It is something 'I' see regular in races and that was no different. messing about at the start with a dodgy wheel or whatever, could be, if his bike was dangerous.
  13. a think its a very grey area,,, some volunteer for a free ticket and, some want to help.
  14. when there is Newcastle United home match on, its not only the volunteers/track staff that might not be able to make it,,, there could be promotion/management, sponsors and fans that couldn't be there also. as for a 'rota',,, good luck with that one
  15. Fair point, but if they just turned up when they felt like it, (like some) things might not get done.
  16. that is such a reasonable description of what happened (IMO), but to others it might have looked just like 'he couldn't be aarst',,, maybe his underwear was uncomfortable
  17. exactly!!!,,, so maybe this whole thing has been a 'publicity stunt' and, Slegdey and Mountain turn out to be 'heroes' ? a think Ipswich are a decent side this year and good luck to them, they were unlucky not to win at Newcastle last time, but thats just the way it goes.
  18. why,,, are they coming to Newcastle to sort the 'middle order' out ???
  19. it would be interesting to see who they were,,, 'look at what you could've had'. but maybe it might not be best, especially if they have a team place elsewhere, unless it was Holder and Batchelor.
  20. was thinking the same myself, tha a funny lot. it must be true what they say about 'Bernard Matthews Turkey'
