Yes but an inspirational captain who leads from the front and actually wins races can inspire other team members to follow suit. Thats never going to happen if risager is captain is it?
-
Ok I stand corrected Im not one for averages and dont follow them at all find that boring and to time consuming. But thanks anyway for the info.
-
Well that will be interesting to see what louis does, if like in your opinion its risager as captain how inspirational do you think he will be to his fellow 6 riders? Totally out of form and confidence add to that he looks scared going into the first bend if beside a rider, pootles around on the inside just like lanham, well it just goes on and on. I hear Jesper Monberg has signed for Somerset on an average below that of lanham. If that is actually true then there you go what ambition has louis really got as he would have been the perfect replacement for (I dont want to ride for the Witches) lanham and the new captain. A top 6 place is fast disappearing and dropping doolan was just great but louis should have added risager and lanham and got rid of all the dead wood. I stand corrected on Monbergs average its too high but still a shame he couldn't be fitted in.
-
Yes totally agree Gavan but we haven't a hope in hell of louis making 3 changes, its staggering he has made any change at all its certainly against anything we have known in the past as he never doe's normally. Lanham is his mate who goe's around for tea and chats to louis house, see what I mean? Risager he obviously feels sorry for after 2 horrendous injuries but you cant have sentiment in speedway if you want success and lets face facts here, risager has lost it and never actually race the opposing riders or go wide for some grip. Its fair to say the Witches have no true heatleaders at all in their team with all the riders whos average is no more than around 7 and there just is no motivation at Ipswich or real ambition. Could you imagine this going on if the great John Berry was still promoter, no way ho-say.
-
Well how does that not surprise me could not imagine louis laying out a load of money on signing top riders just sign old hasbeens for peanuts like doolan and risager. At least now we have 4 young up and coming Aussies in our side all improving and they must be the crux of the side next season and allowing for what the points limit allows, a no1 must be signed and hopefully 2 young and up and coming Danes, Swedes or more Aussies or a mix. Please louis off load risager, tress and lanham they are going nowhere only down in their careers.
-
Struth!!! you are expecting alot from louis, he has made one change that in itself is a minor miracle we can hardly expect 2 miracles from louis and him making 2 changes at once can we? In my opinion any new blood in place of old hasbeen pootling along lanham and replaced by a young Dane or Swede for next season most welcome.
-
Good god Im dumb struck we agree on something at last Wow!!! Lanham should never have been signed in the first place especially as Charlie Gjedde was available but we all know why louis went for his mate Lanham dont we - cheap!!!
-
Should those riders be riding for the Witches then???
-
Spot on I quite agree but just a thought or two, why do riders who have been at Ipswich all season (well lanham nearly all) have to suddenly learn in mid July where to ride on the track and how much throttle to use??? And its been said that the riders can learn off Donky and louis how to gate, well it will be difficult to learn much off louis when he was in Sweden where his priorities were.
-
That is true Im not saying I would rather we went out of existence by being in the elite league but louis has had £40,000 - £50,000 on transfers in recent times and that should have been enough to keep us in the elite league with the extra revenue that would bring in if we had a competitive team. Success breeds success and in turn that brings in bums on seats and if louis had only made some astute moves in signing the right riders (no Poles) that could actually bring success then who knows the gates of 1998 could return.
-
Tell you something bash that certainly is fact, this present Witches team will win nothing this season and however their averages are manipulated that will not make any difference.
-
You certainly must have a very exciting and busy life that you have all this time on your hands to keep listing riders averages What does it matter what their averages are home or away this team is not good enough is clear for anyone to see, well most anyway
-
So you think Chris Louis has no say in what the team is then
-
Simply not going to happen its time for all fans to wake up to reality and realise the team put together at the start of the season (less Taylor) as a "solid" side is not going to win anything and needs 2 genuine heatleaders and not 7 second strings. But with louis loyalties with sky way above those of with the Witches as was proven Wednesday I cant see this ever happening as even now in the inferior premier league the team is still put together on the cheap with no big hitters!!!
-
What in heavens name makes you think Lanham or Doolan is the second heatleader we need??? What have they done this season to suggest either are good enough for that job??? My opinion is that neither are anywhere near good enough to ride in heats 13 or 15 and do the job of beating the oppositions top heatleaders in fact one Lanham does not even want to ride for the Witches. Dont want to see either of these riders riding for us next season along with Risager and Tress, lets clear all the dead wood out and start afresh with just Rohan and Cam remaining along with a genuine no1 and a genuine no2 and adding 3 others that the averages allow.
-
It dosen't matter who rides at no1 this Witches team simply are not strong enough with just a solid side and we desperately need a genuine no1 and no2 next season to add with Rohan and Cam. Who the other 3 riders are will be up to whatever the averages allows and I personally would like a good clear out of all this dead wood in the team.
-
Couldn't agree more baldy but I would just like to add lanham to that suggestion of packing his bags as he do not even want to ride for the Witches!!! What a shambles this Witches set up is eh baldy its an embarrassment to be a bl**dy Witches fan!!!
-
The Witches have become a shambles since dropping into the inferior premier league. There was all that hope and talk of glory at the start of the 2011 season and we won naff all and what happens in 2012 exactly the same!! Still no genuine no1 and genuine no2 signed and we are struggling big time with riders taking no notice of the managements wishes and hinting they dont want to ride for the club. I personally can never remember the club being run like this when in the elite league and if things dont change very soon I fear for the club and its existence after all they cant run if hardly any fans go and the riders dont care a jot!!!
-
Have you been to foxhall this season? If you have, havent you noticed many young and inexperienced young riders at reserve that look out of control in their early heats? As Morten has had 2 nasty injuries recently I cant imagine he will want to mix it with them can you? This is hardly a "tester" year for Louis as you put it as we never had a genuine no1 last season either and won nothing other than a meaningless 4s title that nobody was interested in anyway.
-
Welcome tom, always remember we are all welcome to our opinions and if yours differ from mine so be it, I wont be loosing any sleep over it. As Ive said all season its of no matter who rides at 1 because we simply do not have one. Morten at reserve ummmm? doubt it will make much difference with many wild reserves from other teams around to challenge him.
-
No its not as quite simply the Witches do not have a no1 and if Kevin moves there I reckon his points will drop even further. He is riding at 3 which is the easiest of the 3 those being at 1,3 or 5 and still cannot better his poor average by much. If Morten does indeed drop to reserve that will weaken the Witches as I think he has lost his bottle and there is alot of wild reserves about in the inferior premier league. Lanham whether riding at 1 or not will not make much difference to his falling like a stone average, he simply is a poor Witches rider for some unknown reason which for whatever reason only he knows.
-
Not at all that would be a great move by Chris Louis in fact the best he has ever done. He was a far better rider than he is promoter and could still do a brill job at no1 in place of his mate Lanham.
-
Yes if I am!!! Read my previous posting carefully and I said "is now available" as to regards Rusty Harrison
-
If Rusty Harrison was to be given a good offer to keep riding Im sure he would and thats what I based my post on ho-say
-
See Rusty Harrison is now available, I wonder Louis another Aussie to take the place of our under achieving Englishman???
