RIP Phil. Speedway has lost a great friend. Always enjoyed reading his posts on this forum.

Josh Pickering and Cam Heeps both wow for very differing reasons. Pickering absolutely superb. Very fast and aggressive, so good to watch. Hopefully we gave him a contract for 2022 before he left tonight. As for Heeps, possibly the most pathetic performance I’ve ever seen from a supposed top 5 rider. Hopefully we’ll never have to see him in a Stars team ever again. Utter s**te

Hope everything goes well mate and we do well enough to not need a last heat decider.
-
Bit of a left field appointment but good luck Alex, hope it works out well.
-
Think Kerr signed a 2 year deal at the start of the season. The thing we desperately need is to find a Number 1 from somewhere.
-
Yeah mentioned 7 hours ago if you actually bothered to read the thread

I’ll be honest, I don’t get a lot of the Dale bashing. I’ve got a lot of time and respect for him, especially for his work with the Young Stars. He did well with the 2018 side and ill health really affected him in 2019. I feel he’s probably working with one hand tied behind his back and cuts a frustrated figure when I’ve seen him this season. He’a a decent team manager in my eyes and I’d rather him than Schroeck. I just don’t rate him at all and my mate who was a Rye House fan called him a clown when it was announced he was linking up with us. Some of his comments this season echo that and his lack of tac subs against Ipswich was ridiculous, though I admit his options were limited as nearly everyone was so poor. ideally I’d like Rob Lyon back as team manager, Dale doing his work behind the scenes and Jonathan Chapman back injecting some life into proceedings. But more chance of snow in the Sahara than that combo coming off.

One bright spot is the signing of Sam Hagon as a club asset - http://www.kingslynn-speedway.com/_mobile/news.php?extend.31089 Always been impressed when watching him in the Youth Championship. Definitely looks to have a bright future ahead of him.

King’s Lynn v Belle Vue 24 June
Speedball replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That’s right up there with Schroeck’s “it feels like a win” after we stopped Ipswich only getting the 3 points rather than 4. We were 17 points down at home after 8 races. -
Probably the best option available so have to be happy with that.
-
Surely they can use a guest if Proctor’s deemed to be withholding his services? No need to just sign the first available (cheap) replacement.
-
If those above and Kasper Andersen are the calibre of rider we’re looking to bring in when we have nearly 7 points to play with, then that’s my season done. Would be a total p**s take. I’d much rather they try and bring in a raw youngster with a view to 2022 than any of those 3. Watched Philip Hellstrom-Bangs look very impressive in the Nordic U19 qualifier at the weekend. Get someone in who at least has a promising career ahead of them.

It’s not a personal thing against Ty but it’s clear he is struggling at the moment. When he’s in a strong team, that can be covered a bit by others. However when the team is weak, there really is no hiding place because there is no else to cover him. He started the season on 4.43, his true average for the season is 3.40 (16+1 from 20 rides) and 2+1 were gifts at Peterborough when Harris fell and Wells retired. If you took those points off, he’d be averaging 2.80. In 13 of his 20 rides he has failed to be an opponent. Whatever way you dress it up, it’s not working and the team can’t afford to carry him.

I think we’ve already noticed we’re in trouble. Started in about 2019

There’s a King’s Lynn thread in here somewhere More importantly what’s the matter with Heeps and how long before we can get him into our side? Scenes when we have three 6 point plus riders in the 1-7

Just had a look back at my programmes, think it was 1986. We won 42-36 at Swindon on 07/09. Meeting was a double header with Oxford. Also noticed we won at Reading 40-38 on 22/09 but didn’t pick up a league point at home. We did win against Belle Vue (47-31) and drew at home to Bradford & Cradley (39-39) in the League Cup.

Yes think so, mid 80’s. If I remember correctly think we won once at Swindon with Einar Kyllingstad getting a 15pt maximum.

Peterborough vs kings Lynn 7/6/21
Speedball replied to Gasser90's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just got back and think we can see the Ipswich result was a flash in the pan. Other than a little rally to bring it back to 6 points after 7 heats, we were never really in the meeting. Only early issues for Harris stopped it from being a worse score line. Basically a two man team tonight with only Jorgensen and Lawson bothering the opposition and battled right to the end. Was impressed with Lawson, he really put himself about and Jorgensen looked fast when he gated. Wells had a decent first race and that was it. Riss never looked like scoring a point. Not sure what was going on there as expected him to at least be competitive. Mountain looked much more competitive than Kinsley. Led MPT for 3 laps before getting passed so there is definite hope for improvement there. Proctor looks woefully down on power and confidence. Ironically his best ride was his last one. He really does look the shadow of the rider we know he can be. If this side remains the same that will be the end of my season. Will probably watch Belle Vue at home to see Bewley before he inevitably chucks in British speedway and maybe one more derby v Boro or Ippo and that’s it. Not forking out £20 to watch that regularly. -
Think Bradley Wilson-Dean will come in for Proctor. I’m told he’s back in the UK with two brand new bikes. Probably just waiting for visa to come through. If it’s anything like some of the others, it will be through just in time for our last meeting.
-
Put me down for the 4th spot. Never saw this coming in a million years. Would take those team changes in a heartbeat.
-
Spot on, Cook looked totally uninterested and Proctor has to go as well.
-
Utterly abject and woeful. There is no defending that even by the happiest of happy clappers. Awful from start to finish. Like last week, so slow from the tapes and worst of all just giving up when at the back. Cook the worst of all. The worst performance I’ve ever seen by a No 1 ever. Proctor never looked like beating an opponent and is surely on borrowed time. Seen nothing to suggest there is any improvement to come. Kerr, Riss & Jorgensen all had their moments but again trailed miles off the back at times. Riss finished a whole straight behind the Wolves pair in one race. Bridger all over the place until his final ride. Looked a danger to himself and everyone else as so out of control. Will spare Ryan from any criticism because he did his bit and it’s not his fault he’s been chucked in over his head. Wolves won’t have any easier meeting all season until we visit Monmore. Thought we might catch them cold but they never had to break sweat. Broc Nicol was excellent. Totally regret buying tickets for the Peterborough away meeting.
-
I’m going and the sun is actually shining. Bloody hell Hopefully we’ll get some points on the board and catch Wolves a little bit rusty. Nick Morris probably the key man for me. Should be doing a lot better than his average suggests and he’s had some good meetings at Lynn in the past. If he does well, could be really tight. If he’s off it, Stars win by 8 for me.

Kings Lynn vs Ipswich Witches May 17th 7.30pm
Speedball replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Will start off with a massive congratulations to Anders Rowe. Super performance which even though it was for the auld enemy, bodes well for the future of British speedway. Good to be back and there was some good racing with Riss coming from last to second in the final heat being the pick. Bridger was much better than his score suggests and could have easily had more. He was in the mix in every heat. We never really looked in the meeting until the end but if a couple of things had gone our way, the score could have actually been closer. We were on a 5-1 in heat 9 before bike problems for Kerr & Jorgensen turned it into a 4-2 the other way. Ostergaard should have also been excluded in heat 10 for having both wheels over the white line which would have been a 5-1 instead of a 4-2. Overall though can’t argue over the result because we just weren’t at the races early on. But as track dried out we certainly improved. -

No surprise about Klindt. Heard a whisper the change was in the offing but surprised about Stewart.
