  1. After last night, wouldn’t mind seeing Ben Cook at reserve next season. An entertaining and tenacious rider.
  2. Jakobsen is a fantastic start to 2023 team building.
  3. From what I understand Phil the Ace is spot on with riders, dates and who is being dropped.
  4. Got a feeling Kerr might be on his way (see my post in the Wolves thread). Anyone up on the averages know what that means in terms of points left for a replacement? Wonder if he’s gone as part of a double change to accommodate Iversen’s replacement?
  5. Well that was a nice surprise. A combination of Stars riding well and Wolves starting really poorly. Don’t know if anyone else noticed Lewi Kerr disappearing from centre green in double quick time after heat 15 and his bikes gone from the pits even quicker. He then didn’t come round on the parade truck or come to the press conference in the bar after the meeting. Dont know if I’m putting 2+2 together and getting something other than 4, but for a good team player like Lewi to do that, strikes me as a man who has had some news he didn’t like.
  6. Happy with that. Certainly looks the best option available. He rode pretty steadily at Lewi’s testimonial and is bound to get better as he gets more experience.
  7. I’d have been happy with a point before the start but left feeling a bit frustrated it wasn’t more in the end. Two really poor starts from Niels in 10 & 12 cost him. The outside line didn’t work all meeting so what on earth Jorgensen was thinking in heat 14, god only knows. Just left the inside open lap after lap and eventually Riss took the invite. Doyle was head and shoulders above everyone and never really looked like being beaten. Even when behind, only a matter of time before hitting the front. Riss looking more and more like the rider we know he can be. Worst I’ve seen King by a mile. For the Stars, impressed again with Lewi and surprised he didn’t get the nod in heat 15, though Lawson did spring into life a bit after being quiet early on. How Jorgensen didn’t stack it after picking up in heat 10 I’ll never know. The team is looking solid though and other than Wolves away, been competitive everywhere. Mom - R/R for Starke. Match winning 8+1, what a stroke of luck for Ipswich he didn’t make it
  8. Lynn looked really solid tonight and if anything, I’d say the score flattered Peterborough a bit as they were never really in the meeting. Best I’ve seen Lewi for a while. Sharp from the gate and attacking on the rare occasion he was behind. Really good to see. Top three all done the business and Richard starting to look like the 2021 version again. Thought Richie and Jack both rode better than their scores suggest. Overall a really comfortable night and things definitely going in the right direction. For the Panthers, it’s the best I’ve seen Hans for a while. Took no prisoners with his move on Niels. Very hard riding but fair in my eyes. Ostergaard’s cards were marked once he got warned for jumping the start in his first ride. Other than wiping out Lewi, no threat at all. Nicholls gifted a point due to Worrall falling. Palm Toft and Basso always in the mix without being spectacular.
  9. Thanks Steve. That’s a shame as would have liked to see how the GB boys rode and interested in having a look at Klima and Chulpac.
  10. Any video highlights from this meeting popped up yet? Couldn’t find anything from usual sources on YouTube.
  11. NKI rode last night for Indianerna scoring 9 points, so hopefully he should be about tomorrow night.
  12. Ipswich built to 36.90 so 2.10 under. Heeps on 4.96 but last average for Klindt I could see is 7.56 from Poole in 2019.
  13. Job done. 18 points from reserve compared to Ipswich’s 2 the big difference tonight. Not getting too excited though as we’ve caught both Ipswich and Peterborough when they’ve been missing riders. But after the 2019 & 2021 seasons, it’s nice to feel positive about the Stars again.
  14. By all account Niels said himself in the press conference after the meeting last night that he wants to stay for the season, it was just down to Poland. The main thing is he is up for riding over here. I’m more confident now that he’ll do the season.
  15. Thought Lynn were going to make a meal of this early on. Constantly outgated and making no headway when behind but we got there in the end. Pickering will rightly get all the plaudits again. Heat 9 was something else, especially with Doyle leaving him no room down the home straight. But for me, I’m really pleased for Jack Thomas. More than happy to say I was wrong about him after being concerned pre-season. He’s an excellent starter and very composed under pressure. Chuffed for him to get his 5-1 in heat 8. By far the best rising star we’ve had for a few seasons and can only see him improving as the season goes on.
  16. Pleasure mate, always pay my dues. It just reminds me why I should never bet. Tonight’s result should have been a good one for you
  17. I’m guessing Niels’ 28 days comes to an end this week. We are going to be considerably weakened if he can’t be persuaded to stay and Kildemand seemingly going from one crash to another. Hopefully we hear what the club’s plans are soon. We’ve had a promising start to the season so don’t undo it all by keeping the fans in the dark.
  18. Really should be a home win now but can’t take things for granted. Effectively a 3 man Panthers side took us right to the wire on Thursday. Shame about Riss missing out as was looking forward to seeing how would do against the Stars class of 22.
  19. Well that’s a pint I owe @Bald Bloke and more than happy to pay up. Basso was excellent, a real threat all night. Thoroughly enjoyed the meeting and what a heat 15 to win it. Josh Pickering just carried on his 2021 form at Lynn and that move from 3rd to 1st was amazing. Spectacular way to mark your home debut. Roll on Monday night, see you at the bar BB
  20. Corrr, that's a bold claim. Richie is good at Lynn. Fancy betting one of your pints on it? I'll have Richie, you have Basso. Loser buys the other a pint
  21. Really looking forward to tonight. Got a buzz back that I haven't had for a couple of seasons now. The Stars look to have a strong side for home matches and will be nice to finally see Pickering in the Stars colours after impressive performances for Sheffield last season. Will also be interesting to see how Basso has progressed since the England v Denmark test match in 2019 when he scored 0 from 3 rides.
  22. Good start to the season from Ritchie Worrall. 15 point max for Leicester on Saturday and 9+2 from 5 rides guesting for Sheffield at Belle Vue this evening in the No 3 position. Could be a real trump card at reserve early on.
  23. As we know, it’s not the team you start with but often the team you finish with. Hopefully we won’t be shy in making changes if someone doesn’t perform. Poole (love them or hate them) were winners because they were ruthless when it mattered. One quality signing by someone in this league could make all the difference in the play offs.
