Stars V Wolves - Wed 13 May
Speedball replied to pointsmeanplayoffs's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Looking forward to seeing the Stars in action as missed the Coventry meeting. Shame Musielak is missing as I was looking forward to seeing him in action. Lindgren, PK and Thorsell are also good value at Lynn and expect some good races between Kerr and Blackbird. Weather looking spot on as well. Bring it on -

Speedway Star Season Preview Special Best Ever
Speedball replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I'm the fan from the King's Lynn fans view. Was really chuffed to be asked. -
Probably says more about the promoters and the state of the sport. If people would rather watch a tiny screen with no commentary or on screen graphics than turn up at their local track, I'd say they should be looking closer to home rather than blame Bet365.

Speedway Champions League ?
Speedball replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
More info on FIM website - http://www.fim-live.com/en/article/fim-world-speedway-league-2015/ -
Agreed, that is some work Cheekyboys2 The track record for Lynn is certainly wrong though, It's certainly Nicki P. as posted by GB earlier in thread. Also according to the records I'm putting together for a little project I'm working on, Terry Betts averaged 10.51 in 1972 from 32 meetings (7 full max's, 2 paid). I'm also pretty certain Michael Lee averaged higher in about 1978 but not got the figures to hand at the moment so can't check that. Edit - Just noticed Leicester's track record is also wrong as I was there when Niels-Kristian Iversen smashed the previous best. It's was 59.06 on 07/06/2014 unless of course someone has broken it since then.

Are the events open for the public to come and watch? -
Was mentioned at Lynn forum tonight that Jacob's was due to ride for the Witches in the PL this season before dropping the bombshell of his retirement.

World U21 Team Semi Final, Teterow, 07/06/14
Speedball replied to Bagpuss's topic in International World of Speedway
Glad to see some good old fashioned common sense from both sides has led to Lambert's inclusion. Hopefully both parties have learnt from the fallout. It's actually not a bad looking side and at least gives some hope for the future given the current crop of Team GB "stars". -
King's Lynn V Buxton (mdl) - 7th May 2014
Speedball replied to Mimmo's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Hi Mike Do you have any details about Alec Wright (age etc). Been very impressed with him in the MDL meetings so far but don't know anything about him. Certainly would like to see him given a Stars contract and take the same path as Josh Bailey (i.e. a team spot in the Young Stars next year). -
Stars skipper Rory Schlein is attempting to raise £10,000 for Breast Cancer Care (full details below). As one of the thousands of families who have had loved ones diagnosed with breast cancer, he has my full support and hopefully the support of the rest of the speedway community as well. Good luck Rory, I hope you smash your target. ---------------- Taken from http://www.roryschlein.com/rory-takes-on-10000-challenge/ International Speedway rider and captain of the Kings Lynn Stars Rory Schlein has set a target of £10,000 to raise for Breast Cancer Care by the end of the current season. The popular racer has decided to let his beard and hair grow until the last home Kings Lynn Stars meeting of the season against Swindon on August 27th, 2014, then it will be shaved off during the interval. Ahead of the challenge, Rory said: Breast Cancer Care is a great charity and one I am keen to help by using my profile within the speedway world. My friend and mechanic Lee sadly lost his sister to the disease recently and to be honest, it knocked me back a bit and made me think I want to help. We have got lots of things planned during the season and I hope, with your help, we reach the target of £10,000. There are plenty of ways to get involved with Rorys challenge. Special pink Shave The Roo wristbands will be available soon at tracks around the country and can also be purchased via his website. A range of merchandise will also be available soon with all profits going to the Shave The Roo challenge. On July 16, Kings Lynn Speedway have agreed to turn the Norfolk Arena pink for the night with fans urged to dress in pink to support Rory challenge. The Stars will be wearing special one-off race jackets which will be auctioned off to help raise funds. Every 10 minutes someone in the UK hears the devastating news that they have breast cancer. The confusion and fear that this causes will be felt not just by the person diagnosed, but by their family and friends too. Breast Cancer Care is just a phone call or mouse-click away for anyone living with breast cancer ensuring that when breast cancer overshadows life were there for the person underneath. Visit www.breastcancercare.org.uk or call our free helpline on 0808 800 6000 for any breast health concerns.

King's Lynn Young Stars V Cradley Heathens 26/03/14
Speedball replied to Bagpuss's topic in National League Speedway
Thoughts - guests shouldn't be allowed in the NL but that's a different conversation Think it's the toughest start possible for the Young Stars. Can't see past Cradley for winning the lot again. Just hoping for a decent season that will see Lewis Rose mature into a NL no 1 and seeing Josh Bailey continue to progress. -
Pre-season International Speedway Cup

Hoping to hear more about this tomorrow. Sounds a great way to get ready for the league campaign -
Darryl Ritchings has signed on loan from Swindon

No real surprise but Lewis Rose and Josh Bailey confirmed at last night's supporters evening. Young Josh apparently had Dudley and Mildenhall interested in his signature but thankfully commonsense prevailed Pleased that the emphasis again will be on development rather than chasing trophies. All should be proud to see Kerr, Rose & Lambert lineup for the Elite League side next year

The NLSpeedway Twitter account asked this very question. "Any chance we'll see the Saints return next year @SpeedwayScunny?" "@SpeedwayScunny: never say never;-) ;-)" Hopefully that's a positive indication that they may be back in 2014.

Just seen this on the SpeedwayGB site. Good news and long overdue in my opinion. ------------------ THE 2014 British Youth Championship will incorporate a new 150cc support class – with the opportunity for youngsters to get involved at reduced cost. Hagon Shocks and Martin Dugard will make available a Standard Box Engine Daytona Anima 150FDX, which will be sold for a price of £700 (RRP £889), including VAT and delivery. The price difference is created by the sponsorship of Hagon Shocks to encourage British Speedway. Dugard, along with youngster Tom Brennan, has already carried out testing, and Tom has completed 320-330 laps – the equivalent of 80 heats or 16 meetings – with only one oil change, and a change of spark plug at a cost of £8. GB Youth co-boss Neil Vatcher said: “On the back of Britain having a World Champion, this is exciting news for young boys or girls who would like to compete in the 2014 British Youth Championship on an inexpensive brand-new speedway machine.” The Young Lions Management can be contacted at -email- for more information regarding purchasing a new engine, and any interest in competing in the series next year.

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
Speedball replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Thought it had been mentioned that there was now to be an instant R/R for injured riders? Makes good sense to me, -
I was fortunate enough to be asked to take part in an end of season speedway podcast with KL team manager Rob Lyon by one of our local papers (EDP). One of the topics covered was speed of bikes etc and I asked Rob about F2. He's very much in favour of the development, especially for young riders. You can listen to the full podcast via http://www.edp24.co....f_two_1_2819611 if anyone is interested. From memory I think it's in the "Ask Rob" section around about the middle of the podcast (if you don't want all the chat about the Stars season).
