Team building up and running with the signing of Taylor Hampshire. Really pleased with that. Clearly has great potential and put on a terrific performance at the NSS to finish the season. Hope to see Josh and Ryan back to continue their development. Both have come on leaps and bounds since they first started in the NL. Could see a couple of new faces in the team with Tom & Scott (possibly) retiring, and Shane recovering from a broken leg. Any news on his progress? Would have Nathan Greaves back in a heartbeat as well but sure he will be in demand across the league. Certainly did a lot of guesting for or against Belle Vue. Think Lewis Whitmore found it tough going at times. Probably a little bit to early for him in hindsight but should have learnt loads to carry into 2017. If we are without Tom, Scott & Nathan we'll need some firepower from somewhere. Guessing the team building average will be quite low considering the league will now need to accommodate Lakeside and Plymouth. Personally would love to see Connor Mountain back at Lynn and Jordan Jenkins is surely the hottest property in the league at the moment. I'm sure Mildenhall would have plenty to say about that (especially after Taylor) 1. Josh Bailey? 2. ? 3. Ryan Kinsley? 4. ? 5. Nathan Greaves/Connor Mountain? 6. Taylor Hampshire (confirmed) 7. Lewis Whitmore? Any thoughts YS fans?

Taylor Hampshire signs for the Young Stars. Starts the season on a 3.00 avarage. Delighted with the news.

Jon Armstrong confirmed as returning to Mildenhall for 2017 according to their Twitter account. Great start to team building for the Tigers.
-
Hope he does enjoy being at Lynn. I know if he wasn't, my visits would have been much less over the past two seasons. Just love watching him ride and hope he's a Star for many more seasons yet.

I said those three as they are our assets (well two are for sure, one TBC). Batch isn't so guess his parent club will have first choice though we all know riders can force there way out if they really want to. Kerr & Rose obviously come into the mix as well.

Not had chance to look at averages etc but the way things have panned out, Huckenbeck would be my first name on the team sheet. Now had a year's experience on most of the tracks and at just over 5 could prove a real trump card. I would think King & Porsing would be nailed on as well. Really hope Robert stays.

If you mean Danny King, then no the BSPA don't own his contract. I believe King's Lynn do now.
-
No worries. If I can help with any King's Lynn related queries just let me know.
-
No. If it's not Rob then it will be Dale Alitt.

Checked the programmes from D/H 02/10, Wembley 09/10 and Leicester 15/10 and sorry to say no mention of the meeting in any of them. It doesn't even feature in the Stars fixture list on the back page of the programme.
-
Yes, have the programme from the Oxford & Coventry D/H so will check it out tonight to see if it carries any information.

I have the programme from the meeting but with no heat details. The meeting itself was the Eastern Grass Track Speedway Championship. It was a traditional 16 rider field and the main meeting staged over 16 heats. The programmed lineup was: 1. Denny Barber 2. Alan Witt 3. Terry Owen 4. Tony Ryall 5. Tony Steggles 6. Mervyn Price 7. Harry Godding 8. Bill Sandford 9. Colin Sweby 10. Ton Owen 11. Julian Wigg 12. Jim Rohn 13. Brian Gladwell 14. Tig Perry 15. Robert Stanford 16. Colin Flexman Hope that helps.

I'm told the Young Stars pairing will be Scott Campos and Ryan Kinsley
-
This is the lineup on the BSPA website but don't think it is up to date. Tom Stokes has retired and sure Nathan Greaves will be at Glasgow on Sunday with Sheffield. GROUP A: CRADLEY: Ashley Morris & Max Clegg. EASTBOURNE: Adam Ellis & Jake Knight. ISLE OF WIGHT: Mark Baseby & James Cockle. KING'S LYNN: Tom Stokes & Nathan Greaves. MILDENHALL: Jon Armstrong & Danny Halsey. GROUP B: BELLE VUE: Matt Williamson & Dan Bewley. BIRMINGHAM: Danyon Hume & Darryl Ritchings. KENT: James Shanes & Danny Ayres. RYE HOUSE: Ben Morley & Robert Branford. STOKE: Ben Wilson & Danny Phillips. From http://www.speedwaygb.co/nlpairs

Thanks SL Social media is such an easy thing to do. I know sometimes the person on the end doesn't know the answer. But you acknowledge the query with a holding tweet, say you'll find out and get back them. Just ignoring all reasonable and polite requests is just poor customer service and leaves a bad taste. I've asked for a third time. See where that gets me!!

Kings Lynn - Stars Of Tomorrow Trophy 19 September 1965
Speedball replied to steve19620's topic in Years Gone By
I have the programme in my collection but the results are unfortunately incomplete. As mentioned the Smith was Don Smith. The gaps in the rider line-up were filled (according to my programme) by: No 4. N Slee No 8. T White No 11. C Clarke No 16. M Farmer Only have results for the first 6 heats (and part of heat 7). Wonder if the meeting was then abandoned and Smith declared the winner as he was unbeaten and had the fastest winning times? Heat 1: Dumont, Slee, Stevenitt, Hammond - 86.0 Heat 2: Smith, Hill, Cousins, White - 83.4 Heat 3: Denton, Stapleton, Ballard, Clarke - 86.4 Heat 4: Mannion, Champion, Southern, Farmer - 85.2 Heat 5: Cousins, Denton, Hammond, Champion - 84.2 Heat 6: Hill, Southern, Ballard, Dumont - 84.2 Heat 7: Smith (Results stop here. Clarke fell so was last, Mannion and Stevenitt also in race but nothing to indicate who came 2nd & 3rd) - 81.4 Hope that helps! Cheers Andrew -

Yes, think the rest of the stadium is terracing from the pictures I've seen (never been in person). -

That's very possible. The comment was more based on watching Lambert possibly winning the title. Having been there to see his NL debut, EL debut & SGP debut (at reserve) this would complete an amazing few years. -
There are of the student rooms at Cardiff Uni that should be available. Only £30 this year. Know people who used them and said they were great value.

U21 Final Round Gdansk - 2 October

Only realised today that Pieszczek was a former Gdansk rider and local lad. Surely starts as the favourite but pressure can do funny things, especially to younger riders. Actually looking forward to this more than the Torun GP.
