  1. At least the ippo riders are have good races between themselves at the back. Bomber busting a gut to get pass Lawson lol
  2. Maybe Monster Joe had a little say in the matter!!
  3. I think thats a bit harsh on Chris who is as an ex World Champion. Can't get much better than that.
  4. Correct, Its not in the rule book and on the other hand I've seen plenty of riders lock up and nearly do a 360 and the poor rider behind is the one who gets excluded.
  5. Funny as soon as they scrape the dirt off. Madsen gets 5 pts. Ole making sure the home town boy don't get left behind
  6. Jeremy Luckhurst was wearing a monkey mask as late as 1987
  7. So you said you don't want Laguta, because he's too aggressive, but you're quite happy to have Pedersen back? Whats the difference with either? btw I like both riders.
  8. That over the years has been a classic Miedinski move. Plenty have been fenced over the years with that move!
  9. Show a bit of respect to a fellow rider. He wiped out the pair of them. Did not even bother to see how they were. Had time to wave to the crowd though!!!
  10. What was more disappointing for me was seeing Madsen waving to the crowd and smiling. Showing no concern for a fellow rider and countryman. Let's hope he is ok.
  11. Mathematical possible Steve, but it never happened. The most points you could get without winning a race as you would know, would be 10pts. the lowest ever was 12pts. I think the SON's would have been in my opinion more credible if like other major sports events, we had two semi-finals and a final. Rather than basically a run off after two days of speedway.
  12. But to get to those meetings you had to qualify from the British Final . I'm sure i read somewhere, Chris Morton said it was the hardest meeting for him to qualify from. Maybe he meant the track was a bit too slick for his liking and not being that good from the gate he found it tougher.
  13. i think you're being a little unfair on Bewley. Before he had his crash. he was scoring very well in Poland. The same league as Lambert was in. He gave Lambert a good run for his money in the British Final and had a few good meetings in the world u21 world finals beating good riders along the way. That crash he had last year has stopped the progress he was making, but if you have natural talent like he has, then I'm sure he will get over it.
  14. Steve, I've just had a look at all British Finals throughout the 1970's. The only final you would have qualified if you finished 11th was the 71 final, where you needed to finish in the top 12. The rest of them were either top 4 or top 5 except for 73 final (8th) 74 final (10th) and the 79 final (10th) As for not winning a race and still becoming world champion. Unless I'm mistaken The there have been only three world finals between 1949 and 1994 where riders have scored 12 and even then I would imagine they would have won at least one race!
  15. So what you're saying is.' Let's weaken the product so the best teams can't win.!! Well I'd have to say you're right, as was proved last year.
  16. Would you not agree, that the standard has dropped quite a bit though? Not at GP level or Poland and Sweden. Both leagues seem to be of high standard. I'm not sure why, but if you look at the British Final for example. It's been turned on its head. You must remember how hard that meeting once was. For a 2nd Division rider to make it was a truly great achievement. Unfortunately now. The field is made up of 2nd division riders. Yes doubling up is a factor for this, but Some of the riders appearing in the final would not have made it past the first qualifying round! Never mind make the final!
  17. Maybe the cup final should be played a little earlier in the season then. That way there could be a little leeway for the meeting if either team had too many injuries. Not much creditability is there, when The No1 at Poole lifts the Premiership play off trophy as a Pirate. He then rides in the Championship semi-final with Glasgow. Then a couple of days later he is riding for Somerset in The Premiership cup final.
  18. and last nights farce of four guests riding in the cup final at Kings Lynn. So do the winning guests get a medal?
  19. Yes i thought they look good as well, Simmo and PC wore them as well. My favourite leathers, were the ones PC wore in 77 the Castrol ones.
