In the 2 meetings against Birmingham This week Edwards has scored 20, Hagon 0 So yes the incompetence is astounding.

Oxford Cheetahs v Plymouth Gladiators 23/7/25
tyler42 replied to NumberEight's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I'm quite surprised no one has picked up Ritchings, considering how well he rode for Poole. -
But Joe Thompson isn't the problem, it's the RS system. Bar Ipswich and Sheffield All the RS's are in the two point bracket. Yes Thompson is the lowest, but the rider he replaced "Hagon" is only on 2.00. This surely is why Ipswich who have had Jenkins 4.61 and Flint at Sheffield 5.42 are favourites for the title. Now that Jenkins is injured. Ipswich pull a master stroke and get the next best RS in Edwards.

Birmingham v Oxford - 21st July
tyler42 replied to The H Man's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I for the life of me can't understand why Birmingham wanted to keep Hagon. Yes he a good meeting the other week, but Joe Thompson is the only rider with a lesser average that Hagon! Both the youngster at Lynn have a higher average. If you take bonus pts into the equation. Edwards is a tad under 5pts. Hagon is 2.43. If Birmingham couldn't be bothered to contact Edwards, then whose fault is it that he's gone to Ipswich? Maybe Hagon is very cheap!! -
I agree with everything you have said, except he paragraph above. It's simple if he wants to go to Poland and earn his money, no problem, but and this is the crux of the matter. He got his visa through an English club not Poland. If Kings Lynn were to sack him, which in imo they should do. Where would he stand regarding riding in Poland? Would his visa become null and void?

Is It Finally Time For One League?
tyler42 replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's simple really. Ride speedway and get a job. There is not enough people coming through the gate to class it as a full time job. Reality has to hit with the riders. They've had to good for too long and look where its got us! Year after year one less club. The day they introduced d/u was the finish of speedway. Not only in pandering to the riders, but also the credibility of the sport, but then again there wasn't much credibility left!!!!- 310 replies

I think Dave Rowe and different guests. Tatum's sell by date has well and truly expired. Some of his comments boarder on the insane. Considering he's a former rider. I get fed up with " I suggest" and other repeated one liners. Fair enough do them, but not every other bloody word. Just shows how a public schoolboy education goes a long way in the TV business -

Blue Witch, I must apologise to your good self. I looked on the bspa website and indeed Birmingham has Edwards as an outgoing rider. So no one can blame him for riding at Ipswich tonight or for any other team for that matter. As you said he's a free agent and as such can accept a ride as a RS for any club that wants to use him. -

How pathetic. Is Edwards a Birmingham rider? How can you be dropped if you get injured?. Does that mean every rider that get's injured gets dropped? The sport is farcical enough as it is without this stupidity. Where does it say in this article that Edwards has been dropped? https://www.birmingham-speedway.com/news.php?extend.3681 -
Kurtz needs to win all three and as I said earlier Zmarzlik, as long as he makes the final in all three then it's his championship. Kurtz will IMO crumble under the pressure more than Zmarzlik. He knows if he doesn't win every final its over. It's a tall order to win five GPs in a row. Has it ever been done before? If he does, then he without a doubt deserves to be World Champion. Zmarzlik showed tonight, he was no where near the fastest, but he showed what a true champion he is. Not a lot of people would have given him much of a chance of progressing from the LCQ me included, but he proved us all wrong with one of the best overtakes of the season and then went on to get a 2nd in the final and kept the damage down to two pts Whatever the outcome. It's been a fantastic battle between them both And to see Kurtz in his debut year taking to Zmarzlik has been a joy to watch.

As much as Kurtz has been fantastic this season and a breath of fresh air. With Three GPs to go. He would have to win all three and Zmarzlik have a stinker in one of them. I can't see that happening. Even after a very average night for Zmarzlik. He still showed the class of a world champion by coming 2nd in the final. and in doing so, he only dropped two points to Kurtz.
