Heat 2 was a bit like when Vinny Jones clattered one of the Liverpool players in the 1st minute of the FA cup final. Only this time Poole's Vinny made sure Oxford's trump reserve was clattered, with the end result 0 points for Killeen!😉

Let's face it, even before losing Killeen Oxford were always going to be up against it. Barring one ride and a bloody good ride at that Boughen and Scott over the two meetings have scored 4 and 5 respectively with Scott not beating an opponent. Add in Nicholls poor performance tonight, beating only the two reserves in heat four and Hagon in heat six. The writing was on the wall. Poole were there for the taking, but Nicholls and Killeen needed to be on it. Unfortunately For Oxford that wasn’t the case. Too many passengers. They will have do something different if they want any chance of beating Poole in the cup. Otherwise it will be the treble for the Pirates.

I think that last tweet is a bit unfair on Vinny. Yes the other two have been very poor. Vinny won heat two, beating Kiieen in the process, then had a good 2nd. He has improved, just needs to settle down a bit. Could be a good signing for next season at Poole

If as people have been saying that Boughen is riding with an injury. What are the options for Oxford? Is it R/R or can they use a guest? Having watched him last week riding for Scunny against Poole and tonight. He has scored 1 point in seven rides. Don't think Oxford can carry him on Wednesday and win.

He's made a few shockers this season, but that has to take the award as the most incompetent decision this season!!

I'm surprised he didn't put Boughen in heat 15!!!

Oxford would have been home and dry by now, if it wern't for Shorcks unbelievable decision to leave boughen in the race before. He will have to be sacked if they lose overall.

I can’t see Scott troubling the scoreboard in all honesty. I hope I'm proved wrong, but it could be the difference. We will see if he can match Foord over the two legs! As for Wilkes, he does get stuck in, but the opposition are a quality team. Lets hope Oxford can win tomorrow, so that the 2nd leg won't be a formality like the Scunthorpe meeting.

I wouldn’t class the beginning of August as the majority of the season. As for developing. Until last Monday’s match at Belle Vue Hagon had hardly scored a point for the Lions in the last couple of months. From the beginning of August. Up till the Belle Vue match he had scored 5 points!

He's a breath of fresh air and the improvement from him has been fantastic to watch. Hagon on the other hand was fortunate to have McGurk in his last race to score a point. I thought he might have put Vinny in that one as he's going so well!

Sam McGurk scored 3+1 tonight in the third division. I wouldn’t hold out much hope of him scoring a point against Poole. Out of interest, has he beaten anyone fair and square this season?. The only time I've seen him beat anyone is Celina! other than her he looks so far off the pace. It can’t be good for him nor the team.

The main issue for me, was she showed no consideration for the track conditions. Any competent ref would have, and as such given the riders the benefit of doubt. Then to compound things, she decided, Max Frick who lost control in heat thirteen was not the cause of the stoppage! After such a incompetent performance, she should be disqualified from holding a referees licence ever again. Jim Lawrence (SCB) should not go unpunished for any of this either, for it would have been him allocating her the match in the first place!

Surely who ever gave her the meeting should be questioned. Who decides what meetings refs are given? She should never be allowed to referee a speedway meeting again. Anyone ref half sensible would have taken track conditions into account regarding 1st bend incidents. The only decision she made against Leicester was a shoe in, yet she took ages make it. Frick was out of control when he came out of the gate in heat 13, but she obviously did not agree and gave him the benefit of doubt.. No such luxury afforded to Rew in his 1st race! She showed so much incompetence, You do have to consider if there was any match fixing going on!

Unfortunately the ref is a disgrace, It might have been 1st bend bunching, but she did do that in an earlier heat.Will there be a review of her performance by the authorities ? She has shown she's not got much idea and the conditions of the track.

Surely If he qualifies, he has as much right as any other rider. There has been plenty of riders over the years who haven’t been good enough, but have qualified. Or should it be a closed shop? with the likes of Woffinden just keep getting wildcards?
