  1. The statements that have been made about this year's Ben Fund, including those above, have been nothing short of a horror show. The principle of the meeting is great and I'm sure everyone would like to see hundreds of thousands raised, but the line up is shocking, and to expect people to just turn up is not a great advertisement. Never mind the fact it's in Scunthorpe, in March, in the middle of a global pandemic.
  2. I'd say that considering his career that's quite a poor line up, hopefully there's a big crowd.
  3. At least NP has never been booted out of a GP for race fixing.
  4. I'd argue on more or less every track. Worrall is nothing more than a Premier League heatleader now (not even a number one). Would Worrall be competitive in a Speedway of Nations final, never mind score double figures? No.
  5. Usually a negative when people stick up for someone using their effort as their best quality. Surely it's expected that any manager would give their all, that's nothing special. If effort is his biggest quality then he can't have much else to write home about.
  6. Summed it up perfectly. Some very strange decisions being made. It's good that there are new owners and a new lease of life afforded to the club, but not of it ends up as the next Stole or similar, fighting for the wooden spoon every year.
  7. I don't suppose you've spotted any Polish meetings scheduled for 02/05, have you? We're in Gorzow from 30/04-03/05 to see the Gorzow-Czestochowa on the 01/05 but it'd be nice to catch some more the day after.
  8. As always, you can't fault the new promotion for giving it their best (and delivering already, to some extent). However, you're pretty much spot on, it does look like someone a high school pupil would design for a project. I suppose we can only hope it improves as time goes on and further feedback is given.
  9. It'd be good to see Worrall back to where he was, he really did look like he could kick on til he was fenced in 2018. It's a shame it didn't work for him at Newcastle but it'd be good for Britain to have another decent rider in the mix.
  10. I reckon he'd still get a 6.5/7 point average in this league, he was pure class back in the day and it's not as if he's out of shape or was forced to retire purely because of injury.
  11. I think they've done a fantastic job so far, and I am very happy they've taken over the club. However, social media is one of the biggest and best places to reach an audience these days and that's the kind of content that's being put out? No mention of the sponsor, formatting is all over and it's just a random tweet with no build up or anything. I've said before on here that clubs should look at uni students who are studying marketing or similar, sure they'd be delighted for some experience and happy to do it for a pittance
  12. Pleased you've tidied up what's been posted on Twitter. Does anyone actually think that tweet looks good for a professional sports club? https://ibb.co/ZNYqwnq
  13. Just a decent website would be a start, especially for mobile users, as is the case with the majority of other websites.
  14. Why on earth would anyone post this on a speedway forum? This forum is all the better for the many fans of defunct clubs who still follow GPs/Poland/Sweden/other clubs, but why bother coming on here when you've admitted to having no desire to attend another speedway meeting after a 15 year absence? I know your posts get a lot of stick on here so it should be expected, but this is just such a strange way of thinking.
  15. Jedd List was awful last year for Scunthorpe. While I think he'll be better now if he's given another chance, it would be a risk for Poole to spend 4 points on him. Aussie youngsters in general just don't seem that good anymore, they're mostly decent PL riders all told, but that's not really enough reason to bring one all the way over here.
  16. Well, yes, in a roundabout way it's a step towards solving the problem. Look at supermarkets now, it's all set up so you can get in and out as quickly as possible, self service, paying via phone etc. Young people are not interested in spending unnecessary time going somewhere or doing something when that thing could be made 10x easier with technology. Kids these days can't even be bothered to vote in a general election, so they're not going to turn up to see Main Man with cash and a stamped address envelope are they? All tracks should, as a minimum, take care payment nowadays. It's one of the few quick wins and is a step towards getting young people back involved.
  17. Thank you for your help and advice - greatly appreciated.
  18. Finally getting around to sorting out a Polish trip next year. Is there any prudent advice on getting tickets for a Gorzow home match? Looking right at Gorzow v Czestochowa on 01/05.
  19. I appreciate you're not very bright, and you're trying to make a joke, but he rode every season between 2003-2015. Can you explain how many comebacks someone can make when they ride 13 years in succession?
  20. No he just had a very specific 'GB injury', most top riders have the same injury these days. Hancock would come in on a 4.5 average after his 'injury' reductions.
  21. There's probably a Stoke connection there for good measure as well. Lindgren, Wilkinson and another?
  22. So why does Lindgren's website have a section for his SGB Premiership team with TBA written in? Has it been there since he left or is it a new thing? Does it mean anything? Interesting.
