There's nothing stopping them if that's the case. Except for the fact they'll have 32+ meetings to contend with in the Championship alone.
-
Having thought about it a bit more - are the BSPL trying to drive out the double up riders by giving them too many fixtures? It's a problem which needs sorted at some point and this would be one way of going about it. I'm not sure I trust them to be that clever though.
-
Especially not in this economic climate. You wouldn't mind in the good times to support a hobby/passion, but you'd have close to zero chance of ever seeing a grand again.
-
32 meetings + potentially another 4 for the playoffs + whatever else they come up with. That's not even considering those who have NL clubs. In a country that couldn't finish a season until November 4th (not including the Jubilee Trophy). If it was the first time then you'd give BSPL a pass for being optimistic and ambitious. Seeing as it isn't, they're just plain stupid.

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)

Poole fans? -
Flint seems a bit more aggressive and willing to take risks whereas Kemp seems to prefer being a bit safer. I'd say Flint looks ahead of him by a distance personally.
-
I wonder what would work out more - the fans that Edinburgh bring to Glasgow for their 2/4/6 meetings, or Edinburgh fans that would go through to watch Premiership speedway? Can't be much difference.
-
Probably the fact he rode one more round than Fricke? Fricke also finished on the podium this season, Holder didn't trouble it.
-
The worst GP rider of this season, and no doubt next, returns. I'll give Nilsson and Przedpelski a pass as they were clearly flukes. Holder is just not GP level.

A Polish journalist has tweeted the following (translation): Russians with Polish passports will join the tournament in November and sign contracts with their clubs. The official decision on their admission will be made by March (they have to meet additional requirements), but now the matter is almost a foregone conclusion

Warsaw GP Saturday May 13th 2023

You and me both, this place (& R&R) is your best bet and certainly not the useless SGP media. I do wonder how difficult it'll be to procure Wroclaw tickets - their stadium isn't huge is it? -

What about Jensen, Kubera, Cierniak, and probably countless others I've missed? They're close-ish to GP level, so I don't think we've exhausted all options. I totally agree with you btw. They're daft selections. -

They're both exciting, and come from lesser speedway nations. Otherwise, they're nowhere near the quality of a GP. If Levishyn got in for that then it's crazy. -

The reserve list is bizarre. I know why they've done it, but barely any, if any at all, deserve to be near a GP. Timi Salonen? Honestly? -
If you go back and check most of the WCs in the past there is definitely a disproportionate affect of being a Monster rider. In the sense that hardly any riders are picked because they are Monster riders.

If you replaced Nilsson and Holder with Laguta and Emil I think you'd have one of the strongest lineups in many years. Still at least Holder and Nilsson will keep each other company at the bottom. -
Not sure it's Discovery's fault, just a poor crop of riders for me. Fair enough Prague and Cardiff were naff tracks, which they can control, but not much else they can do. How many of this field will make world class level? Maybe 4 or 5? Even then the likes of Miskowiak and Lampart are hardly exciting to watch.
-
Thanking you. So I'm assuming Lebedevs > Thomsen, Miskowiak > Fricke and that's that. Had it in my head Michelsen was out again hence Hansen & Becker but of course not.
-
Who are the injury replacements going to be? Is Miskowiak still injured? Becker next in line if he is.

2023 GP line up/wildcards

Whichever way you cut it, the series usually has the best 15 in the world (minus Przedpelski this year). If you have 9 from the GP then you just run the risk of more Nilssons and that ilk. Also not sure how this idea gets riders out of a comfort zone? Top 3 will be sorted quite early on so they'll just give up even quicker.
