Cant we congratulate Birmingham on their win? well done the Brummies. Fact is the choice to use R/R for Howarth didn't pay off, Paul Starke had a mare of a meeting & Complin didn't score the points one would have expected. We need to move on enjoy the racing @ Plymouth which I'm told is ten times more exciting than Poole!

If the Plymouth reserves can score a combined 6 points then it has to be gladiators win (we hope).

Question for "local" Poole supporters in the forthcoming elections do you know which candidates: 1. Support speedway for the long term @ Wimborne road. 2. Have no interest in providing entertainment for the people of Poole. 3. Has a dislike for anything Motorcycling including Speedway. This could be better worded I'm sure, also something in writing from any candidates that say they support speedway. Duplicated for Wolves & Peterborough! Good luck to you all.

Plymouth vs Oxford TODAY!! (18/04/23) BSN series
Ghosty replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
This was a very entertaining meeting with the team neck 'n neck until the last 2 heats. The refereeing however was simply abysmal examples being Gilks was left @ the start in heat 1 & then excluded in a later heat when skittled off by Kerr on the first bend. Oxford did well to win but were a 8 man team with the addition of the referee. Please get this referee more training or a visit to speck savers or both! -
Something to consider? Tracks like Plymouth & Poole have plenty of spare dates to re-stage "rain offs" tracks like Oxford & Berwick with 2 teams each so have a more congested fixture list with less options to re-stage.

This reason I ask is because I care for the survival of speedway in the U.K. I'm not convinced the U.K. controllers know what's best for our sport. If more forward thinking was given when all the SKY money come into U.K. speedway where might we be now?
-
I have asked before without any sensible answers so can someone tell me what the BSPL or individual tracks get paid when staging a BSN meeting?
-
Race suits are fine UNTIL you have 1, 2 or 3 guest then the whole team effect looks Fred Carnow!
-
Primarily this is an event is to raise funds for the SRBF, all riders U.K. based that are fit & able should make their selves available to ride in this event therefore if it doesn't " capture the imagination" you know where to point the finger. Personally I don't think the line up is to bad & well done to Buster Chapman for providing the venue. I thank all the riders that have offered their services plus Paul Akroyd & his team for all the hard work in making the event happen good luck to you all on the 25th.

Proctor is a big gamble for sure, could bomb as his per his last few "comebacks" or just as likely turn out a 7 to 8 point average with the right "mindset".

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)
Ghosty replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That is is obvious thing to do, you are dealing with speedway promoters! -
Best wishes to Jack Thomas for a full recovery, meanwhile Ipswich & Poole fans instead of worrying who will replace him how about getting some fund raising going to help the very unfortunate lad?

It was a gentleman's agreement, therefore one of the 2 parties is not a gentleman!

Can't remember the SCB doing anything to stop Rockingham Speedway in Corby U.K. from running "Speedway"?
-
I may be wrong but are there not several events regularly @ both King's Lynn & Scunthorpe that run outside of the BSPL umbrella? So why is this vendetta against the I.O.W. & not others. What the U.K. needs is as much Speedway as possible @ all levels.
-
Most people would find this funny but not those who know what has gone on.
-
Lawson certainly is nigh unbeatable in the Championship, so why doesn't his average reflect this? Could it be a team building average!
-
£22 admission = something like £18.37 + VAT. You also have to pay for away meetings, air fares other travel cost & mechanics. Team mates may want extra payments to be in the same heats as Nicky!
-
The fact is speedway U.K. can't afford that sort of money. You would need 500 extra punters on your home gates.
-
Do any forum members know what are the options for the 1 team spot still to be filled? Or could an option be that Plymouth drop a named rider & bring in 2 others.
-
Well I've seen it with my own 2 eyes & that rider become a World Champion........

Are you taking the micky? "Royno" had agreed a deal to sign for Mark Phillips & Plymouth months ago, these things happen & sometimes come back to bite you - we shall see.
