Buster Chapman - Is He Good For The Sport?
Ghosty replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Buster the facts: 1. Has he done well with the King's Lynn stadium, making it multi use & sustainable? YES 100%. 2. Has he the ability to produce a good race track for good racing? YES 100%. 3. Has he in the last few years delivered some horrendous track surfaces not fit for racing on such a fast circuit? Your answers please! -
Buster Chapman - Is He Good For The Sport?
Ghosty replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The BIG problem with the Kings Lynn track is the excessive amount of clay in the track, This suits the stock cars but but not solo Speedway. It would appear that the stock cars are the money making side of Buster's business & that's why the track is prepared the way it is! -
Poole V Belle Vue Bt Sports 26/6/17
Ghosty replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can the Pirates management present the riders with a decent track on which to perform. Does anyone know if arrangements have been already made sort out the track? Good track = good racing = happy punters trackside & those watching the tele. -
Off track Ben is a very nice guy, BUT he suffers from "Nikki Pedersen Syndrome" that being: you put on a crash helmet & it changes your personality! I must say Ben is nowhere as dirty as Nikki just more of an out & out racer - & there lies the problem Ben is to injury prone that's why no one in the Premiership has signed him. Very underrated rider on his day very good. I wish Ben an injury free 2017 season & keep entertaining the fans.............

Who are the people who decided that Dan Bewley was to good to be a track reserve? You should hold your head in shame, what better experience for the future to have been part of this meeting & even showcase his undoubted talent! WELL DONE to everyone involved in putting on a suburb meeting (& congratulations Craig Cook) can Matt Ford follow that for the next domestic BT Sport production?
-
I personally know all party's involved in this move, but I must say this looks like a move of DESPERATION on Matt Fords part as well as a huge P.R. disaster.
-
If you are on a bit of a budget & get a 2v JAWA or Weslake you will be a very lucky bunny! Cheapest bikes about tend to be the earlier laydown JAWAs.... Good luck.
-
If the weather means the meeting is off, then it can only be a good thing for speedways credibility (that's if it still has any) & re-staged with full 1 to 7s. Why is this meeting still scheduled with less than half an Eastbourne team should have re-arranged anyway, perhaps the Drury knows the answer?
-
If? Connor Coles can get a team place @ Plymouth - being the son of Mike & grandson of Bob I can see plenty of support both on & off the track for the talented but as yet unlucky young man.
-
Can Plymouth accommodate Connor Coles in their line-up, I think granddad Bob lives local (also I can't see him continuing with Newcastle) - could be a great move for all concerned!! Move quick before others do I recon...............Lawrence?

Arthur Browning- Big A On The Iom 2017
Ghosty replied to OGT's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Big Arthur 100% living legend............. Congratulations AKB! -
The ONLY problem with the Somerset 2017 team is we have not had @ home 6 of the 7 riding/scoring to their potential (7 of 7 would be preferred) the Oaktree is 100% a racers track if you or your machine are not on the pace 100% it will show & you will get beaten! For me the biggest problem this year is the missing visiting riders, can we please sack the current person responsible. It must be a difficult job but what has been presented is appalling......
-
We all hope for a speedy & full recovery, the cost of that Air Ambulance would have far exceeded the collection amount - but every donations helps & congratulations on your fine effort. Please remember speedways very own BEN fund will help Danny during his recovery which is why we should always support the once a year track collection & the all important BEN meeting @ the start of the season.

Was it Terry Russell..........

Somerset V Wolves Friday 5th May 19;30
Ghosty replied to Wolfsbane's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Have the Somerset Promotion (& their fans) been conned big time with the move into the top flight? Are is it simply that the fixture compiler should be sacked & all "B" fixtures should be rearranged NOW! -

There are many losers: home fans, away fans, the "star" riders, riders sponsors, the home gate, the sports credibility.....the list goes on. Something should be done NOW! -

Ghosty replied to Wolfsbane's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
These riders have committed to ride in the 2017 Premier league, when missing uk meetings they have bikes, vans & mechanics sitting idle! As things stand it's the fixture list that needs sorting. Most riders will be disappointed to miss a meeting @ the Oaktree. So it's the Fans, Riders & the Somerset promotion that are all being "Short Changed". -

Ghosty replied to Wolfsbane's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It would appear that all the riders that have missed Oaktree fixtures (& the one's due to miss) are the very same riders that the fans will come to see. How much is this costing the Somerset Promotion? This season it's been great racing for the fans that turn-up BUT its the big names that will drag in the extra fans! How can this major problem be sorted? -
Kevin was liked by everyone, maybe appropriate with 40 years now past (subject to family approval) to hold a memorial meeting?
-
With other premier teams strengthening-up are the Rebels likely to follow? Does Gary have any plans & what options does he have? Your comments please. P.S. What fantastic racing we had v the Swindon Robins, all witnessed by Terry Russell, B.T. sport should stage all their meetings @ Belle Vue & The Oaktree!

Good luck to the Devils on Friday, hope you get a good crowd.
