  1. Better deal? is that the city where a kiss is not a sign of affection?
  2. So I thought it might happen - but amazed it has!!!!!!
  3. It's all change again after missing out on the wayward Ben Barker the Plymouth management have gone one better & are hoping their dynamic reserves for 2021 could be rising stars Mike Bowden & Roy Miller! (Yes this is fake news & unless you know the above you won't know how funny it is & yes I'm very bored in lockdown.) P.S. I genuinely wish Mark Phillips & the team the very best in 2021 & trust the BSP play fair.
  4. I said that every effort should be made in 2021 to get those 3 tracks up & running in 2022. To know "your team" has 5 of it's riders borrowed from the other league for the night doesn't give the fans any ownership of their team, as you say just as well get 14 riders turn up & pick your team on the night. Moves have to be taken that riders can earn a wage riding for one UK team.
  5. Nice to see some agree with my views! Look's like the promoters are going wholesale against number 5 nearly all riders in the Premiership also riding in the Championship - what's the difference? only the admission charge, gives speedway no credibility.
  6. Why on earth would Jason Crump sign for Plymouth I thought? To keep match fit, Tuesdays race day, Track would suit his skill, Close relatives living in Exeter, a prodigee or 2 in the team. There just might be some millage in this!
  7. You are way off the "mark" it's those 2 young rising stars of Cornish school boy Grasstrack Will James & Wayne Barrett!
  8. Obviously no bias due to family on the BSPA!!!!!!
  9. I think Tuesdays were the Trelawny Tigers race night?
  10. Would Saturday be a possibility or the traditional Exeter Monday's?
  11. If Plymouth were to be accepted in the championship & that's a big "IF" I don't think there are enough riders available to raise a competitive team. Look @ the proposed line-ups of Glasgow & Eastbourne. Using any riders not U.K. based will be a recipe for disaster in 2021!
  12. Anyone else heard the rumor that Kings Lynn have been in talks with Terry Betts? (A fantastic servant & rider to the stars).
  13. MY VIEW.... The best we can hope for is a 4 month season July to September, the whole of U.K. should be revamped NOW but only for 2021. Teams to be made-up of U.K. based riders. Meanwhile every effort should be made for a complete relaunch of our once great sport for 2022, this to include: 1. To get Coventry, Oxford & Bradford up & running. 2. To standardise bikes for the 2 lower leagues therefore lower (overall) cost. 3. Cap pay rates in all leagues that are affordable via tracks income, 4. Stage creditable regular home fixtures @ all tracks. 5. Stop double up/down & guest other than injury cover. 6. Introduce the use of smartphones as part of the live meeting experience (to get the young involved). 7. Getting promoters heads out of the sand, take a step back & look again.
  14. Have Poole got their stadium rent/tenancy agreement sorted?
  15. West Country speedway fans 2021 season: With no Speedway @ Somerset or Swindon & yet to see any sign of an agreement with the landlords for Poole to run. Could be a lot of traveling or no speedway for many of us in 2021. If the GP does fun @ Cardiff in 2021 will the BSPL run a meeting @ the Oak Tree on the Friday night?
  16. I would like to see Anders Rowe as the young brit for wolves, he has riding skills that would suit the tricky wolves track = good for the team & good for Anders development.
  17. Crump will be @ Ipswich 100% as stated he will put bums on seats & has joint sponsors with the team in addition his return is such a boost to British speedway the BSP will help make it happen.
  18. Agree with you again Najjer, do you remember "Keep it simple" already long forgotten... What is needed these young guns need to have races v their apposite numbers, have a minimum of rides per meeting & a minimum £ guarantee per meeting. Now (2021) would be a great time to reintroduce second half's - not like the old style riders taking or leaving it BUT an exciting & meaningful addition to the main event, what would be the cost? riders, bikes & everything else already in place & a sponsor to finance the final.
  19. I think we can all agree Lewis Bridger was a fantastic talent on a speedway bike, with few better. If he still has the riding ability he's 20% of the way there, however it will be the other 80% that's required that will determine whether the proposed comeback will be a success or not! A Lewis Bridger (when on the gas) is the type rider needed in every team that would be great for UK Speedway.
  20. Well said James, exactly what many supporters have been saying for years. FACT IS there has never been a better time for major changes to be implemented but will they happen? My guess is we will be presented with minor adjustments to an already not fit for purpose GB league set up, things like 6 man teams to save money, it's been tried & was hated so why would you try again. A TOTAL TRANSFORMATION IS REQUIRED OR WE ARE DOOMED.
  21. That forward thinking rider was none other than current Plymouth promoter Mark (the Undertaker) Phillips.
  22. Interesting to read Clarke Osborne's profile on Linked-in: My background is in accounting. 23. There is a problem that in any race riders turn a full 360 4 times, so does that not make the sun issue unavoidable?
