  1. Forgot Kyle Newman, whats his official average?
  2. Has the Speedway Star ever done a (honest) few pages on Clarke Osbourne's speedway track record. That would make very interesting reading.
  3. Two names not mentioned how about: 1. Henry Atkins! a bit marmite with most Plymouth fans. 2. Zac Wajtknecht he has the talent has he got desire for speedway.
  4. Clarke Osborne was a Director of a company that acquired the old ground of Bristol Rovers, Eastville. The club were evicted and Osborne made a sizeable profit from the sale of the stadium for development. He then bought Torquay Unitd and put a lot of effort into persuading the local council into selling him Plainmoor. You can make a good guess as to what would have happened next. The Council have not played ball so it looks like Osbourne has given up. As Torbay Council own the ground a phoenix club maybe possible but they may just sell it for housing if Torquay go bust. Grim times to be a Torquay fan especially as they looked nailed on to return to the League a few years ago. However, Osborne was loading debt on to the club and losing over a million a season in the process. The gamble failed and they have been heading for bankruptcy ever since. Such a lovely man!
  5. I thought 24 year old Clarke Osbourne was the office boy @ Bristol in 1977? May be he would also like to tell us how he "took control" of Torquay United F.C. & was so successful! I think it's fare to say Mr Osbourne sees 95% of us as gullible fools.
  6. Clarke Osborne Clarke is Chairman of Gaming International the owners of the Swindon Stadium at Abbeymeads. Not known by many, Clarke has a long history in Speedway and motorsport, including the creation and operation of the most successful Speedway venue of the modern era in Bristol. Clarke has been actively involved in the promotion of speedway in Oxford. Poole, Swindon, Reading, White City and Wembley. He has completed in Hot Rod racing, Karting and Stage Rallying.
  7. Sorry it was "TRIGGER - he PULLED the fastest milk cart in the west"
  8. Has Ben Trigger been named as the Gladiators number 7 yet? From the words of Benny Hill - " TRIGGER - he drove the fastest milk cart in the west" Sorry that very few under 50s will know who Benny Hill was or the song! Can we have this song on the P.A. if Ben does sign a bit like the P-irates up the road.
  9. Good job he is not coming in as an elite league heat leader then!
  10. Plymouth should only use Ben it his average mean he "just fits" the number 7 slot. That way it would be good for the Gladiatrors & team Trigger.
  11. Maybe he wants the same "deal" as the Cookie Monster?
  12. Maybe he wants the same "deal" as the Cookie Monster?
  13. Sam's problem was that the "highly rated" Tobias had such a poor start to the season that Sam was promoted up from reserve before he was ready. It's worth remembering the better scores from Tobias came from riding in a reserve position.
  14. The league win was won only because riders were taken out, Poole had "lost" it with the first leg fact. Now for the KO Cup Oxford riders are still ruled out thanks to Vinnie Foord & the pirates number "8" - a complete injustace! Can the SCB insure that referees have regular visits to Specsavers PLEASE.
  15. I hope that the promoters see sence & vote for 2x home & 2x away for a worthwhile league fixture list for 2025. By that I mean worthwhile for both the riders & fans & even the stadium owners Can we also have someone different doing the fixture list PLEASE.. PREMIER LEAGUE. Why don't we run the U.K. Premeir league on Wednesdays & Thursday? You then only have to fly all the superstars in & out once saving a fortune!
  16. Okay Kyle then, nice guy with 100% effort every lap - just needs some fitness guildance & I could see a 7.50 average.
  17. Team averages for 2025 - to keep strengths as they are then the team average has to be 45. Plymouth 2025 the Thompson twins are a must have, then Ben Barker on his average is also a must for the Gladiators. It's been said elsewere but Ben could do with looseing a stone in weight and while on the subject Karl Newman could do with looseing 2 plus stone! Nothing personnel to either, but as professional riders they would both increase their earnings. Good luck to Mark, Gary & the Gladiators in 2025.
  18. I think that there may be a football thing going on that will effect a lot of meetings?
  19. I've been involved with speedway for 58 years but saturday was my first visit to the "new" Belle Vue, I was impressed with everything the Stadium, track & the racing! I think it's fair to say the best rider on the night won so congratulations Dan. Belle Vue is the best track in the country (thanks to Chris Morton) & is the perfect track for the British Final. Have people forgotten the carnage when the Finals were run @ Wolverhampton! One thing all british tracks lack is decent shale, I'm told the quarry/s that supplied it either no longer opperate or won't supply it to speedway tracks.
  20. Agee with you 100% the referee @ Plymouth requires some training in how to deal with these situations. The meeting should have started @ 7 p.m. track was perfectly raceable.
  21. So you would be up for a match race with Miss Liebmann then?
  22. I'll repost this: The current rider shortage of UK riders is down to one thing Grasstrack both adult & schoolboy it has become almost none exististent in the UK & that is where 80% of all British riders came from. The BSPL should work with the ACU to encourage a revival of ACU clubs to run Grasstrack meetings.
  23. Moto X that's a Grasstrack with a few hills!
