Berwick Bandits V Workington Comets Sat 3/6/17 .
Tardis replied to jenga's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
At one time away fans could use rain off tickets at the restaging of the match don't know about the new promotion. The use of the covers will be limited after 4th July that's when the football season starts -

I wonder how many visitors to the town go to Shielfield tonight hoping to see some speedway after all there are about 4 or 5 big banners up around town saying speedway every sat at 7.00pm. the promotion had better watch out coz the council have been known to go out and remove these banners and destroy them -

I hear that the team are going to be wearing team race suites this year nice touch but it would have been better if they had got them made by an ex rider who put his life on the line for this sport and the Bandits, Adrian Rymel, instead they are going for a cheaper option, mind cheaper not always better -

If Berwick are to sold as a going concern then surely they must declare that they intend to run as if they say they are not then they are no longer a going concern -
I heard on Saturday night that an offer had been tabled at the track it came from a quite good source
-
You must remember the only bits of the stadium that the speedway has a responsibility for are the track(inc fence and lights on the bends) and the pits also the PA system everything else is down to the BRFCSC as lease holders
-
When it comes to buying any business(yes that's what the speedway is) the first thing ant buyer would want to see is the last few years accounts and get a list of assets and equipment and get these valued before they make any offer.

Berwick V Somerset (7.30pm) Monday September 5th

100% agree with the fact that Dick Barrie's comments were over the top in fact it could be said that he was inciting violence which is agaist the law and could have got him arrested. All it takes is someone in the crowd to make a complaint to the police. Think it should have been please put brain in gear before mouth in motion -

I find it very strange that only the 2 Bandits stopped for that red light which I would guess was a red eye limiter on a camera flash as for the fireworks its against the law to set them off in a public place without the permission of the landowner and you can be given a fixed pen of £90 but also if it goes to court the max is £5000 fine -
So the Bandits are up for sale well if the price is anything like the one I've been hearing its not going to happen I think they will be lucky to get half of that. Lets look at what they have other than the riders an old ambulance(the newest was bought by john not the speedway), a pick up, 2 old tractors, the fence, floodlights on the bends, pits tea bar(I think the van belongs to andersons), the tapes and starter gear, the red lights, the sound baffle on bends 1&2, the track grading equipment There's also a price of the goodwill, the bond and the licence. Maybe this sale is about 2 years too late. It could be a long winter but saying that will it not all have to be sorted by the AGM Here's hoping for a good outcome

I think one of the main problems was/is that no matter what they said if John and Ryan don't like it they will vote it down as they have the share majority
-
Thing you must remember Topsoil, who are the leaseholders for the stadium So no matter what happens I would think the football comes first
-
No wind up the covers are held down with old tyres that could be called a trip hazard, not only that imagin the wind got up and they lifted during the football match BRFC could be fined, think there might be too many risks to let the covers be used
-
The problem with putting covers on when Rangers are at home is if the football ref would allow them to be there for health and safety. Think it would be more for the tyres that hold them in place if a player fell over one of them it could cost the speedway a bit of money in insurance payout.

Berwick V Peterborough (13th August: 7pm)
Tardis replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Re big hitting number 1 you don't need one if you have a good team with strength in depth look at Berwicks best finish in the PL did we have a number 1 no but we did have 7 riders who on their night were capable of beating anyone and often did also I think we may have had some of the highest ave reserves in PL. That was an interesting interview with PW and most of what he says is true, lets face it his tracks were not perfect butit gave us a home advantage a lot of teams were beaten before a wheel turned. To heck with fair tracks we NEED a track that suits our riders but will we get I don't think so -

Its called a home track advantage which is something we have not had for a while, some home track quirks can be worth 6-10 points a meeting. Its all well and good saying its fair for all and we see racing but we dont and a winning team is a well supported one -
Surely its in the interest of a club to keep thier supporters engaged during the close season to this end they must depend on supporters organiations to help in this as the officials have too much to do getting ready for the new season, with this in mind it doesn't take 2 mins to put a link onto a club website for an event that is taking place. Bet if this had happened in 2014 it would have been all over the club site

casualty can be transfered into an equiped 1st aid room to await county ambulance, and the meeting carry on as long as another paramedic/doc is available. I think it changed in late 90's as when bandits came back to shielfield medical cover was a paramedic 80% of the time
-
Changed last centuary
-
Its you thats wrong sugest you have a look at the rule book it was changed a long time ago The rules you need to look at are 8.4 and 8.4.1
-
t is a slur on the good name of the speedway doctor who has done the job for over 20 years
-
the ambulance that peter bought is sitting in the pits at shielfield as for the insurance being £10000 I dont think so, think it would be more getting it up to CQC standard
