Leicester V Lakeside Sat 1st August
robert72 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Season is over for Leicester, shocking display tonight. Like most didn't hang around after that display,I think dogs should of stayed banned not a place for them. I have to question leicesters lack of getting good guests. DH looked unhappy on the center green? Shame about the mdl riders, can only blame the promotion, more would stay if it quickly followed heat 15 -

Leicester V Lakeside Sat 1st August

It should be a decent crowd now due to the amount of local rivals Coventry Bees riders in the meeting. You cannot class this as anything more than a select match with so many changes. -
I fear the sport may lose several clubs this winter, the blame can only fall on promotors as the sport is too expensive to watch and to run, plus riders equipment is far to expensive. Sad times for the sport

Leicester V Lakeside Sat 1st August

I think Leicester went up to soon,If they Finnish bottom again I can see Doyle wanting to ride elsewhere next season and the struggle starts again to find riders wanting to come to Leicester. If DH decided to drop into the premier league he would gain more respect and support than going for a 3rd wooden spoon in 2016 I see Hans Andersen is riding for Swindon against lakeside tonight then riding For lakeside against the lions on saturday,Friday he rides for the bees,in 3 days he has rode for nearly half the league teams, only in speedway lol -
I saw it a few years ago, truly amazing for any speedway fan,a must see.

Think there has been a lot of injuries in Poland over the last few years plus a death sadly. Bikes need changing and air fences changing.

A match with as many guests as regular team riders, i think it could be a poor crowd. -

If Doyle was playing the delaying game it is not very sporting and more so its robbing the fans. -

Lucky for the lions that sky wasn't there or heat 10 would of been run to get the result whatever the weather lol -
Lakeside on Again, why is it certain teams get on sky more often than others ? Lakeside are Only 4 points ahead of Leicester and Lakeside have completed 4 matches more than the lions,There I was thinking sky don't do teams low down the league?

I disagree, the uprights are the easiest to handle whatever engine is in the bike, lay downs and dirt deflectors were a bad decision,it wasn't thought out properly and was simply about making certain people richer. Tracks are the same, riders have better safety gear yet more are getting injured, they need to make changes for safety and cost.
-
They say you should always go forward but in this case I feel speedway needs to return to uprights, they are easier to ride and to control.

Save Coventry Speedway - Meeting July 23
robert72 replied to speedybee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Really ? If you pay to rent the stadium why can't you hold a meeting afterwards in the bar ? You would already have your customers there to watch the racing, they surely would stay a further hour for a meeting on the future of the club. -

Is this the same sandhu that you and others believed would find the bees a new home ? -
He will have very good insurance cover for loss of earnings while injured. I think now tungate has been banned for causing injury through dangerous riding it could now open the court door to sue tungate for autys injuries which could then lead on to any rider suing others who crash into them. Can of worms opened.

Gem, what I was meant to say was why wasn't it held at Brandon after a speedway meeting ? -
Save Coventry Speedway - Meeting July 23
robert72 replied to speedybee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
When you take into account it was about saving speedway & stock car racing at Brandon and only 150 turn up from a massive city & surrounding areas it shows there isn't a lot of interest sadly to save Brandon stadium. Why wasn't it held at Brandon stadium ? -

On the road so not within the area to pick that station up, however I think that was a poor turnout. -

The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock
robert72 replied to Grand Central's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Tungate gets banned and Hancock gets a little fine for a far worse incident. Only in speedway
