Yes it is easy to make those statements when you have hit fence posts, metal fences and seen a riders finger sliced off and many bad injuries by poor fencing, if a number of amateur football teams can raise thousands to buy a 3G pitches then surely a professional speedway team can raise whatever it costs to provide the best safety fence money can buy. My understanding is speedway is not value for money and a large number of promoters have not done enough to make the sport improve for the better.

Money shouldn't come into it over rider safety.
-
I wouldn't be surprised either if they found the money to pay him what he wanted to ride for them he would jump at it. If he cared about British youngsters, he would be running training schools at British tracks during the winter months.

Like I said months ago TW decision to throw his toys out and quit really angered the bspa and it should British fans, how can British fans support a British rider who doesn't support British speedway. Fans need to forget TW and support the Brits who really want to wear the national teams race kevlars
-
All those who said he would do it have gone silent, TW only looks after himself and doesn't give a toss for British speedway or its future.
-
Unless it's £5 or £7.50 then it doesn't seem to work mid week, even team gb V Aussies on a Tuesday didn't bring in much of a crowd.
-
Ronnie Russell bringing in a German and Dane in the British national league, the gates opened to the foreign riders many not as good as British juniors but given more chances.
-
Tai is No longer seem as a good advert for British Speedway
-
You will have stevebrum on your case now saying everyone loves TW
-
I don't see how buster would be happy to be a tenant of david hemsley and run speedway at a track known for the lack of great racing.

Does British Speedway Have Future?
robert72 replied to Pieman72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yes it's happens and many other things fans don't see. -
Stevebrum will always try and find excuses for TW but for a young sportsman with no young family to look after he can ride 7 days a week so he has no excuses to pull out.
-
Greg now 46 won his national title 8 times and retired from it at 40 years old, so your point about tai quitting at 25 and only winning the national title 3 times is poor excuse. Aussies Chris holder 5 times national champ You were saying stevebrum ?
-
He has a good reason because he says he is British and should jump at the chance to ride in his home country every week in front of the British fans, doesn't Nicki P ride in Denmark and Emil ride in Russia in front of their fans ?
-
So are you now in agreement that he has let British Speedway down ?
-
Good Post, poor old stevebrum thought everyone loved his tai, Like I said ages ago tai is immature and badly adviced and his popularity has sunk quicker than the titanic, no question about his talent on a bike, sadly it's his decisions off the bike letting him down
-
I think way more than a few but there was a lot of Boo's this year at Cardiff plus the play off finals was clear he is unpopular. I wouldn't be surprised if he rode for his beloved Austrailia now.
-
I don't think he will now, he is very unpopular with British fans as you can read.
-
The riders will be paid through the promoters bond money held by the bspa
-
This total silence is a complete Lack of respect for the loyal fans of the club.
-
I would bet £1 on Leicester lions winning the league at 5000/1

I remember flying up the motorway to a meeting and heard a massive bang and thought the bike had fallen off the v shape bike rack but it was a blown back tyre possibly with the weight in the boot and the bike on the back. I had a van before I retired but not like the ones today which are so well kitted out and must cost a fortune. what gets me is the way clubs dish out hire vans for foreign riders.

The lions need the Russian sergi darkin back

I went to watch a grass track meeting in the summer, that was a fantastic day out, so many awesome races including sidecars, I would prefer to watch that at £10 plus programme than a 15 heat dragged out speedway meeting at £21 including programme. Having been involved in speedway for many years i wouldn't be bothered if I went again, it's too expensive for the quality of the product.
