the point i am trying to make is the sport is great for us - we love it - we wouldn't want too many gimmicks to take away what we love i agree full stadiums wd be great

The actual darts play though is good quaity - yes its been packaged well but the core product is good Speedways core product - the racing - often isn't good and its not in a warm hall full of drunks shouting and singing! so you can see how one works and the other doesnt

Once SKY bail out a lot of teams are going to have to cut their cloth drastically and we may lose tracks. The sad part is speedway lives in a different era to the majority of the population here in the UK. a comma after the word 'out' changes the whole meaning of this post and i think conveys what the poster means!!!

Yes there are any amount of independent TV production companies who provide programming to TV broadcast companies I accept this would be unlikely to happen - Eurosport are more likely to buy ready made Swedish or Polish programming - thats their usual modus operandi

I for one wouldn't mind them picking up the league contract - even if it was highlights and not live as i've said before it might even do the sport a favour cutting out the delays and so on i think we need to prepare for life after sky

no there doesn't need to be a 'hope for the best' policy - there are recognised and well used ways to develop a business. A good marketing company is a starting point. I've put ideas on here myself - I've worked in business development - but we need BSPA to club together and market Elite, Prem and NL speedway.

I don't peronally believe that manufactured controversy or 'other attractions' are the thing - I've seen dozens of them and they're always lame - personal appearances, motorcycle display, etc The sport has to stand or fall by its own self. Your comments on costs are spot on - they HAVE to be lowered all round. It has to be made cheaper for riders so it can be cheaper for us. Its not formula 1 - the average fan doesn't give a toss about the bikes - leading link forks (whatever they are) - its the riders and teams we care about - they could ride anything for all i care

questions 12 and 15 seem to clash - 12 saying good value in the main - 15 saying should be cheaper its interesting that some of the things we harp on about as wrong are not seen as wrong by respondents - e.g length of meetings, etc of course the respondents are dyed in the wool speedway people - the views of casual fans or non attenders are, in many ways, more pertinent.

no, not motive - effect I make no mention of motives - I assume they meant well

they would have reason to feel aggreived if the league structure which provides dozens of riders with steady employment was undermined in any way by breakaway promoters and ultimately threatened the scope of employment offered. It is very tempting to see anything new as a good thing and i would expect criticism for my views but I would urge speedway to stay unified.
