somebody on here did float an idea for a super six competition which tv could be interested in - I'm sure most gp riders would commit to such a short competition - this could easily run between other league matches if it was a combined el/pl eg Poole would run a home super 6 match once a month and standard league matches the rest of the time - plenty of scope to shoot me down there but worth considering i would have thought crowds wouldnt be so good for the 'standard' league matches but lets face it they're not much cop now

I'm not sure what topaz is trying to say - what does he mean a change of font and things will be fine is he trying to be funny?

Is It Time For Redcar To Dispense Of Matej Kus.
ch958 replied to mikebaker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
not really - much better to have 7 men esp when 1 reserve is alraedy injured Kus has lost his mojo - maybe Hall can find his -
must confess i'm with you bw on this
-
i'm pretty sure if we all met up in a great big bar somewhere we'd all be fine even bwitcher maybe

you're not going to punch him are you TWK? that would make you a character!!
-
I doubt he actually hated him - prob disliked. I've harboured dislikes for people from years back - perhaps had Millen lived they may have had a laugh about things by now and perhaps if i ran into my betes noire i would do likewise. you could have a meeting involving the most controversial riders of our times tomorrow at any track in the country the crowd still wouldn't approach even a BL2 match in the 70s

moxey - brilliant post u going to get some flak tho -
-
no cr they prob didn't which is why people bang on about getting costs down so riders dont need paying quite so much
-
yes but speedway is attracting crowds similar to football's 5th tier therefore entrance fee should be commensurate once crowds build up maybe then the price can go up lets not kid ourselves - the product is shoddy at the moment edit: just checked Whitley Warriors ice hockey - £7.50 in
-
cheers twk i got good support from you but it can get a bit hairy on here! edit: record crowd at Brum last night with 10 pd entrance so we must be on to something just get the costs down and everyone can win!!
-
we had quite a long canter on another thread about speedway being a £10 sport and the need for someone somewhere to control costs to make this possible I still firmly believe this is the way forward even at the expense of dispensing with star names but i got such a walloping from some posters i'm not going to push it!!
-
i bet it is theres some serious financial trouble out there they wont all be gone obviously but there'll be quite a few less
-
fair enough

would a flexible dirt deflector really knock you off??

can we have a proper race track next time

i agree - and once the genie was out of the bottle along came a host of expensive stuff that has added nothing

Berwick V Redcar (13 July - Pl)
ch958 replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Dyer can't score all 45 or 46 points on his own without their top man many teams become ordinary -
just returning to the original poster question if i may i think the answer is as has been mentioned - its not a traditional speedway thing to make tracks in places like this and i would expect it to be a non starter especially in the current financial climate I'm afraid things don't look too good at Norwich either - there are too many objectors in influential positions and not enough expertees amongst the potential developers. They could do worse than persuade Tony Mole to get involved. In fact BSPA should pay him to seek out and develop such opportunities.
-
an independent ruling body would deal with this sort of matter without links to individual tracks, riders, manufacturers so that sensible decisions are arrived at. Currently the sport is essentially leaderless and makes knee jerk decisions..
-
which is why a ruling body independent of bspa is vital or else every dcision will be driven by self interest
