  1. are you saying you don't believe this project will come to fruition if so - just say that and bow out if it does happen you'll just slink off and we'll probably forget what you said - if it doesn't you can trumpet 'told you so' for about 4 years its quite a cowardly and negative stance
  2. i agree with everything you so say TWK, however they have shot themselves in the foot a bit - they trumpeted big news and it isn't really is it? its just given the naysayers plenty of ammo
  3. this should be printed off and used by BSPA as a mission statement
  4. yes i know greyhound stadiums aren't always the best for viewing - Belle Vue for example doesn't stop them being used though
  5. does the average fan really think like this? if so we're f**ked
  6. does anyone know has this ever been considered as a venue - it seems perfect - good location, grandstand, big city, Long Eaton fans, etc
  7. it is a syndrome that people, especially older people, look back with rose coloured specs however its more than that - crowds are falling - nobody - absolutely nobody can be making any money apart from maybe a dozen top riders a complete rethink is needed - its not F1 - fans don't care about the bikes just the racing, the riders and the teams make the bikes cheaper to buy and run - i don't care how but it must be possible - slow the thing down a bit - use the dirt more
  8. "I read Phil Collins’ piece in the Star last week, and it is hard to believe he actually walked away from the sport in the mid-80s... because he was finding it more and more difficult to pass, his strong point. I recall there was talk about speedway getting by, using less and less dirt on tracks, and fans wanted dirt on circuits increased, allowing the chance of better racing." watched the gp at the weekend for about 15 mins - racing rubbish - no overtaking - two idiots shouting over nothing -same old names - turned it off and believe me i was an obsessive fan at one time - imagine how the casual fans feel
  9. again i come on to a thread and the talk has wandered a million miles from the topic
  10. you've been reading this forum and you STILL want to go!
  11. watching as a neutral last night i thought the match was ruined by the tac ride just my opinion
  12. I'm a Boro fan but end up supporting "Redcar" even though the tracks in Middlesbrough and nowhere bloody near Redcar!! Needs must. and to top it all i live in Whitley Bay
  13. there isn't currently a will TWK but they can't bury their heads in the sand for ever even promotors must realise that if machinery costs were lower riders would need less pay and they could make more profit
  14. this is always going to happen if a change is made - if you give 2 years notice that should suffice i'm afraid you can't make omlettes without breaking eggs as the old cliche goes
  15. i approve i approve Diamonds fans should post where the Metro inspectors are too!!
  16. as a fervent bears fan he was always the voice of the enemy! one of the very best in the business though
  17. one thing an independent body could look at is different track materials - there seems far less work on this than bike 'improvements'
  18. to be honest i don't want to rain on the Diamond's parade - fair play to them for pushing the boat out - BUT Danny King should not be in the PL he should be too good for that I don't even know if i've thought this through - it just doesn't feel right
  19. trivial i know but i wish we would call ourselves Great Britain Team GB was a desperate attempt to be trendy and its really old now I know it won't make us any better!
  20. brave move - its a gamble and i hope it pays off i think it will
  21. or run on Saturdays and do without GP riders
