  1. sorry to go slightly off topic but this whole loan business is ridiculous and i'm fairly sure wouldn't stand up to EC employment law scrutiny. You can't stop people working. Kus doesn't 'belong' to anyone, he's a freelance motor cycle racer and should be able to ride for whom he chooses.
  2. more importantly i think his and everybody else's ire should be reserved for those who make themselves unavailable for selection for GB - at least Woffinden turns up and rides
  3. Why dont you forward a cogent argument for your statement rather than a load of Daily Mailesque rubbish
  4. i think you have to realise GB's position in the speedway world - poor relations. We can't dictate anything - we either fit in with the rest of Europe or forget many star riders. I think it would be a bold move but at least it would be a move - better than doing nothing. EL Mon and Weds, PL the rest of the time. Lets get behind it
  5. the north south split is totally unnessessary as its not really travel costs that is the problem plus it would be really boring - one big league at pl level for me might lose some big names but such is life
  6. http://www.chorleyfc.com/index.php/news-menu/club-news/2454-dual-registration-what-does-this-mean have a click on this - perhaps speedway is not the only sport to share
  7. play offs are going nowhere - this argument is dead - they fetch in far too much money - you may not like them but thousands do
  8. offer free tickets to those who apply and give mob number/ email address and market to them free of charge every week if they have applied, even for free tickets, they have some interest or curiosity so that can be developed. Regulars who would have paid anyway have given you their contact details so you know who your customers are and you can market to them regularly, maybe with discounts for less attractive fixtures, etc TBH its beginners marketing - just needs a bit of work of course when they turn up they have to see a credible event without 'borrowed' riders, delays, bad track prep, etc
  9. it needs to compete with whatever else is available for the money - a tenner is the pictures, bowling, 3 pints, non league football
  10. they don't have to fold - riders used to use their annual leave for meetings, half days, part time work, understanding bosses - not easy i know but the sport can not afford pro riders at pl level and below. as a matter of interest though which pl clubs could positively not run on Fri, Sat or Sun? even if it meant a change of regular race night
  11. i agree it can be done in dozens of ways- i wrongly assumed you were referring to reduction in EL standards
  12. maybe but who is going to take the financial risk with their own or their businesses cash to invest in a team full of expensive world stars if it works - fine - if it doesnt theyve lost their cash not yours or mine so there has to be another way cost cutting ideas dont have to necessarily bring in fewer fans - e.g. most fans dont give a fig about the machinery and wouldnt care if much cheaper machinery was used where possible.
  13. I think even more crucially would the people of East Boldon not kick up an almighty stink
  14. ive asked this before but surely the H&S executive insist on accidents at work being recorded so there must be firm data somewhere
  15. to be fair that's their problem - they'd have to get a job Speedway neither owes them a living or can actually provide one for them currently
  16. i agree but someone has posted on here that laydowns are easier to ride not harder - crucially i don't know and maybe neither did he. We need some ex riders without axes to grind or things to sell to come up with answers to that. Deano used to talk sense but i think he's given up on us.
  17. Well I've just seen LL's helper preparing his bikes in his garage in Whitley Bay so he'll be there!
  18. ooh, don't know about that like watched at Cleveland Park for donkeys years and i saw great racing - and the better, more intelligent riders fared best
  19. BWitcher - you are KKS and i claim my 5 pounds
  20. Interesting stuff - i didn't know any of this.
