Favourite Team Race Jackets Before Advertising/sponsor Names.

this is so true - you cant point to it and say its a reason for the sports decline but it hasnt helped same with bikes -
a casual question to the sales person - what about the speedway noise? Oh don't worry itsgoing away
-
i'll be travelling down from Newcastle a few times TWK - you'd be welcome to travel with me. Not back though (haha)
-
i think from now support the venture is the answer - keep the crowds up
-
they're not going to suddenly turn round and build houses on it are they
-
what if the bspa disbanded and a new managing body created - they wouldnt have a contract with them

Speedwaygb Needs To Get The 'handbrake' On ! - Bradford
ch958 replied to thebaron's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
they got to the league cup final and crowds came on the back of that. -
thats not a stumbling block, its the only thing preventing demolition.

unexpected fire

i agree TWK - and it will be needed this year with all the extra excitement this team will bring!!
-
absolutely not - the less we hear of these (usually amateurish) egomaniacs the better
-
well i know i'm not racist - i enjoy and welcome diversity but I'm not so pc that I ignore clear facts about certain aspects of other races, including their geographical preferences and certain of their behaviours particularly towards women
-
although speedibee could lose the 'immis' name

why is it bigotry to comment on the amount of a type of people who live in a particular area? Are we supposed to pretend its not true? No one is saying gas them or send them home. In my home town asians live mainly up the west end - thousands of them - fact - end of - am i supposed to ignore the fact I enjoy the diversity in big cities - white faces are usually welcomed - not always - so who are the bigots in that case?
-
well its a weakening of 2nd tier and the need for some riders therin to have other incomes both of which are too much for some to swallow numbers 1 and 2 at 2nd tier level could be back ups for top tier but thats it for me - max of say 6 appearances for me I'd stomach it to achieve credibility
-
i suppose rather than looking for grand theories to pin point the beginning of the decline a simple question to those who have stopped attending but still come on here might give some clues. I am one such non attender these days - my answer would be expense of admission as the main reason. Now I'm out of the habit and wonder if I'll ever regain it.
-
either way i don't care - i just want credibility for the sport
-
no i wouldnt want 6 man teams tbh not to sound cruel but thats their problem - get a job maybe
-
i personally believe there are sufficient in the NL who are not wobblers and could be used. It does mean weakening the 2nd tier and severely restricting doubling but i believe thats the way forward. I understand 2nd tier fans enjoy Cook, King, etc but they have to pick one league in this country for me for the sake of credibility i also believe 6 man teams could work
-
i've argued this for years but it needs a cut in machine expenses and foreign travel as well as (unfortunately) paying riders less - the first may happen but the other two....

Uncertainty Over Teams And Sky Tv
ch958 replied to Nobblytriers's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
quite a few of us are of the opinion that the sport doesn't televise that well, although sky have done better than most. Plus its getting too embarrassing with ad hoc teams - when they show pl fixtures next year there'll be any amount of duplicate riders - hang on doesn't he ride for Belle Vue? Televising has done nothing for attendances maybe its best sky pull out -
while this does seem rather obvious why does he not just say 'you're evicted' rather than busting the seats, which by the way not all venues have and wouldnt really be a barrier to the stadiums use = well not for speedway anyway, whise fans will put up with much discomfort
-
from the northernmost track Edinburgh to Plymouth in the south Belle Vue is actually slightly to the south of the middle
-
so - what then - pull the plug or keep talking???
-
not the worst idea tbh
