Is There A Need For Guest Riders?
ch958 replied to steve roberts's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
it isn't an easy thing to solve tbh but with the introduction of credible promotion and relegation it HAS to be dealt with to go forward -
why dont the mods just block this idiot
-
you are correct of course but won't the 'asset' question come up? X, Y or Z team benefitting from coaching they don't actually provide themselves and conversely will the BSPA or whoever object to the expense of training someone else's asset? It could be funded by a tax of sorts but you can't see that being popular. It highlights the lack of unity in the sport, which is essentially 30 different businesses loosely associated

if 300 is the norm for NL, 5-700 for Ch and 9-1200 for prem thats what clubs should budget for we keep expecting miracles re crowds year after year - its time for some serious financial management and if it has to be become amateur or semi pro so be it. You can't argue with numbers. a massive publicity campaign might help but nobody will pay for it

wish there was a way of either keeping Garcia or bringing back Buckhave when Busch returns but i don't know how the averages work these days -

Don't like to complain after the effort KK has put in but we are carrying 2 passengers atm and one in particular shows no sign that it might change. -

no offence to my Diamond pals but the problem at Brough has always been the same while I've been going and thats the shape. I can never understand why the bends aren't shortened - would it be more like Monmore then? -
so are you saying it would be better if they didn't have it? From what i have read culture can benefit regeneration, although obviously your sink estate yobs will still be there. Perhaps they'll be quoting Larkin and Marvell as they stomp on your head.

reasonably well balanced teams, a clear league structure, lots of young brits coming through why wouldn't crowds pick up
-
i am very surprised that such an announcement would be made - i would have thought family, etc would need to be informed first. Perhaps they were present, i don't know. I have never witnessed a fatal crash at a meeting and would never wish to. The Gunderson/ Cross crash at Odsal was bad enough.

forgive myignorance but why the animosity

I see a wealth of talent coming through myself it is vital that there is a clear route from 3rd tier to 2nd tier - quite a few 3rd tier riders have been there a little too long imo it would mean moving some second tier riders out - either to the top tier and ending double down or limit the number of foreigners and before anyone says anything you can limit foreigners by group consent
-
couldn't Bukhave have fitted in? Not that i'm complaining at Garcia, just a question
-
great post - full of common sense
-
i agree - i think beleiving these people is crazy I assume the Robins promoters are not stupid and know this too theres a nice looking bit of land next to Swindon Supermarine - away from houses and aleady used for sport
-
to be fair i think there is the beginnings of a plan - bringing the leagues slightly closer to allow for eventual credible promotion and relegation - they seem to be at least investigating new engines with low maintenance. I personally dont have a problem with the old tac sub - the new one is embarrasing and du/dd equally so. As i say - the beginnings
-
you are correct about rider loyalty but what about clubs lobbing riders out left right and centre instead of sticking with 7 for the season with the odd change for injury. Remember Leicester making one single change during one season in the 60s This win at all costs has been counterproductive
-
oh yes - i witnessed this on a few occasions
-
does anyone know any stories of riders who were either great pals or , more interestingly perhaps, sworn enemies
-
my thoughts exactly - its the changes that actually lost fans most of the time. Cost of admission, rocket bikes, ugly bikes, etc etc etc First things first slow the bloody bikes down and get some dirt

no, riders are freelance - they will obey Polish clubs because of the £££ -
