It isn't a dream team for sure but you have a 1 to 7 to start the season - you may find it won't be your 1-7 for ever besides the sport is about racing - not necessarily winning - if they put a show on that's worth the admission
-
why wouldn't he make it over on time
-
customers/fans have a right to be informed when there is something to impart. Would you like an hour by hour update on phone calls, etc. Negotiations are often very delicate and sometimes you have to be discrete. For example, if a rider thinks Newcastle are desperate his demands may increase beyond affordability. I think its reasonable that information is on a need to know basis at the moment
-
No, just no
-
Carillion went out of business - Lakeside haven't. I do take your point but doubt its relevance.
-
I bet he's far from the only one. Wonder if any other riders would care to comment.
-
how does this add to the debate?
-
not small sums of money. More clear evidence of clubs paying far more than they can afford. A non league or league 2 footballer playing in front of speedway size crowds wouldn't get such sums. Nor would they commute from another country to play Riders deserve every penny they get but if the money isn't there we should be going semi pro Also should the club who owe the money be allowed to come to the tapes in 2018 in ANY division? Are we too scared to lose a club that we turn a blind eye?

I'm just waiting to see what happens up the road Ian
-
well i was thinking Germany, Latvia, Czech Republic - should do ok!
-
Team GB is an embarrassing effort to seem trendy. Its Great Britain. perhaps they will organise test matches against someone we can beat!!
-
i saw the second ever meeting at Somerset and i thought it was terrific and i think the second division would be reinvigorated by an influx of 3rd div riders and the moving on of riders like Barker, Lawson, etc etc to the top division. They can double up of course - in Denmark, Sweden, Germany or Poland.
-
thats because you're equating name riders with good racing. As a lifelong 2nd tier fan i prefer 2nd div riders and racing. And they'd be doubling down not up. Not everyone feels like me or you and thats fine, is just opinions
-
NL riders besides if it was done gradually over 2 or 3 years it would be managed better

Scott Nicholls Not Allowed To Ride In The Championship?
ch958 replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
well imo yes but others may not agree my own feelings about 2nd div is it should be weakened to allow easier transition for 3rd div riders but thats my personal opinion - I've always watched div 2 and enjoyed watching improvers -

other leagues can insist on a homegrown minimum in teams so it must be ok with EU. Perhaps if its voluntary EU rules don't apply -

to be fair restrictions on du/dd should be announced now for next season -
i doubt they would have been awarded it without contingency plans for a big crowd
-
they need to start looking now for another site - maybe they are. Wasn't planning granted on condition of the stadium remaining? I don't know but surely the council would take a dim view of planning being flouted.

Quest seem to be developing an interest in sport why doesn't someone approach them with a highlights package
-
said this before and i expect i'll say it again - free or reduced price tickets in return for email addresses (mail the tix to that address) and bombard with info and adverts, ask questions and act on the answers. Its the first day of GCSE Marketing. It costs at first but once you have contact its free
-
well apparently there isn't.
-
for me - a highlights package would be best - 3 matches a week and keep schtum about riders riding for 2 teams! Oh and riders appearing for their rivals.
-
kind of related - someone just posted on fb that there are more than double the number of riders unemployed than doubling up. something not right there - perhaps this informs attitudes to work permits. i guess a fair percentage of members voted for brexit - well nows our chance to make sure those riders are employed before any visas are issued
-
fair enough
