  1. i see Burscough FC are building a new ground. You wonder how thats possible on 3 figure crowds. Wonder if anyone would ever think of saying 'leave room for a track round the outside - £1000 quid rent a week during the summer when there's no income'. Few miles outside of Liverpool - massive catchment area you wd think.
  2. no idea but they won't run with 6/7 teams will they? And its hardly a sensible business plan to move up is it?
  3. I myself am in favour of radical changes which i won't repeat here because i can't take the flak atm. It does look, however that another season of 'lets pretend nothing's wrong' is ahead of us with 2/3 teams being bribed to enter the top league stripping the less disastrous (i won't say successful) CL and NL of clubs. One thing i would say again is that people talk about dilution when big names don't ride here but actually the product is well presented good racing, not necessarily star names whose names ,lets be honest, mean f. all to the general public.
  4. presumably BSI paid for the rights?
  5. the income from Cardiff should be ringfenced for development of tracks at NL level - how else are we going to grow talent
  6. if the BSPA were anything but individuals they would do a 'rugby league' and support the likes of Buxton
  7. would have thought Ulrich was completely nailed on for Newcastle
  8. doesn''t matter who rides here - someone has to come 4th! Its the racing not the names. The names mean nothing to the absent public.
  9. given the paucity of fixtures couldn't every club run a 2nd team? Perhaps using 6 and 7 too
  10. I wouldn't be so sure there will be a NL; who would be in it? No Kent, Cradley, Plymouth, Stoke - that wd leave Mildy, IOW, BV, Leicester
  11. yes George told me that one day (I think he was a bit offended haha) As always with dog tracks you have limitations and as you say £££
  12. its a cracking stadium but the straights have always been slightly too long for the bends - conversely i believe STMP is the opposite with straights being slightly too short. I think racing at BP would be greatly improved by shortening the straights - I believe Wolves did this donkeys years ago and Swindon of course have just done it, in both cases the racing improved.
  13. did our best to chuck that away - thanks Ben Barker - we'd have been better with Sargeant!
  14. aren't you busy freezing your nads off? I would be but i'm away
  15. i assume that can't be at DW? or is it a possibility?
  16. i trust the meeting was advertised in the programme and fans informed over the pa - that would have been good. A quid or two off with production of the programme maybe bring a few in
  17. i really hope total averages are lowered to help them, and other NL teams with nowhere to go such as Mildenhall and IOW
  18. yes but why Aus/NZ - they will have the same employment status as any nationality, including the current EU nations. I see your point and would like it to happen but has anyone actually considered this and the implications?
  19. well of course it did but the capacity for running 18 teams at a decent level would be compromised. I would suggest this brings a single division even closer BTW its not up to speedway about Aussies and NZ - its the D of E who will be keen to ensure UK riders are employed. The commonwealth means nowt in this case
  20. have we forgotten that the automatic right to travel to and work in the UK will soon be gone. In football you have to prove so many international caps i believe for non EU players so the likes of Iverson would be ok but what about others? Has this even been considered? What are the chances of work permits for second string and reserve foreigners while GB riders are unemployed? It would change the face of UK speedway completely.
