  1. i think it was a restraint of trade in a supposedly free labour market but i really don't want to argue because others think differently and thats fine
  2. well its all semantics Gordon, as you say its a fine line, have a nice evening
  3. therefore he WAS blocked from working - would be unlawful if he was a plumber or a teacher, that was the point i was trying to make. If a football team doesn't offer a new contract or one at reduced terms the player is free. I really can't see how anyone could argue with that. But I'm sure someone will haha
  4. interesting points, i don;'t care about the loan system i just can't see how its legal and enforceable but u guys seem to know better
  5. if someone is an employee, they get paid and have certain protections. If a team can't fit a rider in, that rider is essentially redundant and able to seek work. elsewhere unfettered by his previous employer. Yes, its working at the moment and no one is complaining too much but sooner or later a Bosman type situation will arise.
  6. actually if this was taken to law it would collapse like a pack of cards - riders are actually self employed contractors and the asset system is a load of bollox.
  7. BAGS can make a massive difference to the viability of a stadium - Newcastle being an example. The track doesn't need to be bigger, its great as it is
  8. i don't know how much wooly hats cost wholesale but instead of looking at them as rvenue they should look at them as. advertising and give them away. And yes, as long as they're not garish
  9. personally i would have preferred that, although twice at home and twice away would have been far better imo.
  10. well they haven' let Plymouth in but they should now, under the circumstances - an offer which should be made to IOW and Mildy too, though i doubt they'd be able to accept
  11. sounds like we'll never know anyway
  12. he'd achieve 4/5 point average imo
  13. Bukkhave is an asset and quite good - I'd love us to give him a chance
  14. I'm shocked looking at NL or junior teams how many decent prospects scoring well then appear to have quit. I wonder if lack of opportunity to progress to div 2 is one of the reasons, owing to the strength of d2 dicision these days.
  15. to be fair they could block messages at any time but most people, even the vaguely interested wouldn't mind getting info and offers from time to time. Lets be honest you have to actually look for information about fixtures, etc - they're not going to preview it on the news and its hardly in the papers whereas an email or text may prompt.
  16. problem is, the questions need to be asked of the people not there. I've put this forward countless times but if you offered free tickets in return for email addresses or mobile numbers you would be able to contact both your existing customers and anyone with enough interest to take a free ticket. You could then inform them, advertise to them and generally involve them. I. mean this is like marketing 101, the basics.
  17. if they are going to persist with the fixture plan i hope the regional fixtures are kept far apart - if Redcar race Newcastle in April - i wouldn't want to see them again til at least July
  18. Did anyone in that meeting, i wonder, object to this ridiculous idea. 22 league matches - whats the fkin problem? why come up with some ludicrous half assed idea like this. 5 1/2 months of lge racing, 2/4 weeks cup/ play offs - mid march to end sept/early oct
  19. 2ce at home, 2ce away = 22 meetings. Would have thought that was achievable
  20. it won't be restraint of trade after Brexit - people seem to be ignoring there'll be no free movement of Danes, Germans, etc
  21. yes, i miss the one or two friends I have made here who have decided to move on because of the personal attacks.
  22. can't you girls do this via pm - i log on to see whats happening and see only petty crap i don't want to hear about.
  23. yes but the format isn't the problem - bikes are too fast for the tracks which have no dirt on them, or at least not enough. Maybe rev limiters will help. It's still a good night at the speedway but there's too much emphasis on winning at all costs. And it's too expensive to get in because the bikes are too expensive. And so it goes on, the list's a mile long.
