  1. I've always though High Flatworth in Howdon would be great but that's North Tyneside. So many built up areas though
  2. whats happening at the third level is good but there is a definite block to progress at the second level which has become far too strong.
  3. we're in survival mode, or we should be. Control the costs now before it's too late.
  4. well you wouldn't want to argue with the people who own Euromarkets i can tell you that
  5. bi interesting to see how the pay cap in leagues one and two goes. My guess is it'll be broken as often as its not. The likes of big clubs like Sunderland will stop at nothing to get promotion. Would be the same in speedway
  6. By 'worked' I mean that bikes were affordable, tracks had dirt, nobody was paid more than could be afforded, guests were fewer, riders generally only had 1 team other than 2nd div riders occasionally doubling up to Div 1 temporarily. I have no objections to things moving forward but not when it clearly adds nothing.
  7. well they've obviously afforded it. My point, which you seemed to have missed, is that this is another thing which is not needed such as 4 valves, laydowns, etc - it is not adding anything to what is a sport which should be looking for savings, not more expense. This is not a dig against BV, who I've always admired. I reiterate my question: what will it add to the customer experience at the speedway?
  8. Riders less willing to race in less than perfect conditions because of their rocket ships. Stock cars aren't a weekly event.
  9. i believe the report said turn left as you go into the site and that the training track would be retained
  10. one or maybe 2 double downers, everyone else would have to go semi pro. Even in the days of 3/4000 at Cleveland Park in the 2nd Div the riders had jobs.
  11. OR the Championship could stop employing so many Div 1 riders and save some dosh while maintaining a v entertaining standard of racing
  12. well i know the sport has no money. What do you think it will add?
  13. you just not making clear your message, don't know if you agree or disagree with my post, irony rarely works on social media
  14. Mark Lemon has described the newly fitted speed transponders as a step forward for the sport. To me its just more money to not make anything better, along with 4 valvers, laydowns, etc
  15. and yet, we hear of new ventures at Worky, Southampton, possibly Odsal and Exeter so it does go on. As with any business the number one thing that puts you out of business is not controlling costs. Added to that admission fees have to compare with similar experiences (night at the flix, non lge footy, pizza, etc) you then have to control your costs to work within that income They tell you this day one of business studies!!
  16. superb news, just have to take precautions against the neighbours who don't live in houses
  17. thats the answer but who has the authority, imagination, cojones, whatever, to do it? We can do it unilaterally - the riders who ride gp or foreign leagues prob have dedicated machines for that. Needs someone with more tech knowledge than me to suggest exactly what to do but F2 maybe??
  18. with considerably more expense that your average NL football team and theres the rub
  19. shocking state of affairs
  20. well yeah, the bspa, which should have been using the sky money to accrue as many venues as possible. So many tracks are at the mercy of people outside of the sport, they could all go tomorrow
  21. be nice to have something owned by speedway and not private, but whatever
  22. something else that should have been secured by the sky cash - northern area training centre, Iwade or somewhere as southern area centre.
  23. I don't know mate, you'd know best
