  1. yes I'm aware, I'm just opining as to how i feel it should be.
  2. Tiger's guest will tip this their way imo. Guests for reserves doesn't sit with me but fair play, its in the rules
  3. this quiet year has been a holiday for the locals, they've enjoyed the peace - they'd be in for a shock when the racing starts and there'll be hell on. Possibly all part of the plan
  4. Adam Roynon seems to be doing ok and he's had more than his fair share
  5. its not going to happen because no one's in charge other than the riders who, not unreasonably will use any tech they're allowed to. They shouldn't have been allowed. If the sport is slowed down a few miles an hour, no one would even notice. Modern bikes look rubbishe too
  6. because you snubbed them and they're big babies who clearly don't have the sport's interest at heart. Get the French guys over, run a few French league fixtures like the American football does at Wembley.
  7. its a superb facility and one we really really can't afford to lose. Surely its in the interests of BSPA Ltd to support the club with loans of equipment, etc. Talk of fining the club is only going to push it nearer the exit door. Isn't there a track inspector - shouldn't he be there today with the management ensuring this doesn't happen again. Oh and it shouldn't be re run imo
  8. the 50 mile exclusion zone sounds like a plan
  9. never say never - Redcar came back, Scunny, Worky by the looks of it, Leicester, Kent. Maybe not this year or next due to lack of cash but one field was found in the middle of nowhere so maybe there'll be another. Get them Euromillions tickets bought.
  10. this has to bring 1 division closer.
  11. why hasn't it been offered for someone else to promote
  12. how far away is Ringwood? Could that not be developed?
  13. Odsal is a fantastic facility and could draw big crowds for big meetings - GP, SEC, World Cup, BLRC, etc so could BSPA Ltd run it in a league sharing whatever losses and preserving an excellent facility.
  14. interesting this, I have tried to find out. There were no conversion averages obviously, old hands were restricted by gentleman's agreement. Riders were plentiful despite the warnings. When Teesside lost Greame Edmonds, Allan Brown turned up from Kings Lynn 2nd halves and became no1. If you consult Speedway Researcher and look at the results for 1967, 1966, lots of names crop up as reserves for BL1 teams who subsequently rode Div2. Of course BV with their training school had loads of decent riders who couldn't get into the first team and they could reasonably have used Chris Pusey. Other teams were 'sister' tracks. Teesside's was Leicester and we benefiited from that with Plant, Leadbitter, Reading, etc. In 68, no 7s had 2 rides only programmed. I loved those days, watching the progress of some of the young talent was great.
  15. i wonder if anyone in the know would care to tell us what Redcar cost. I expect the council would have been fairly ok with the rent, its land that wd otherwise be useless
  16. wouldn't say Redcar cost millions and its arguably the best track in the division. Facilities aren't plush but hey ho. If someone can get a field in a suitable spot, put the track in and build the facilities as you go = not cheap i know, but not millions. I've said it before but there are dozens of showgrounds where the land is unused for long periods, other than boot sales and they're usually out of town - Westpoint, Exeter for example or Royal Highland at Edinburgh
  17. I know someone was looking at Avonmouth a while back - i assume nothing came of it. Shame because there's no housing, its all industrial. I believe they even placated the RSPB
  18. i suppose it has to be one or the other. Or something completely left field.
  19. come on then, someone must know/ guess
  20. some unnecessary rudeness on the Swindon thread - absolutely no need - admin should be acting
