Redcar v Newcastle Tyne Tees Trophy 25/03/22
ch958 replied to Yearbyred's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
ah, the old Arsene Wenger 'I didn't see the incident' haha. I didn't see it because I wasn't there but there should be consequences if it was as bad as they say, although I would hate to pile misery on the Diamonds -
what's happening at Reading? Have i missed something?

Historically Newcastle sports fans have wanted someone to hang their hats on - Shearer, Fabulous, McDonald, Owens, Mauger, Wilkinson. Even with an average 6 blokes below him they need someone like this. Hope they find one and soon or I fear for their future. -
he gambled on being able to sign Bewley - if he had missed out on him what would you be saying then?
-
that is quite correct but there isn't the cash to strengthen it. No cash needed to reign in the strength of the second division with the bonus of NL prospects getting a chance. Also IOW and Mildy might be tempted to rejoin a cheaper division. The knock on should be 2 more members of the top div to 8 so more rides in the division and a severe curb on DU/DD and eventual ridding of it.

you've guessed
-
is the greyhound track still there? Is that a possibility?
-
careful, you'll be accused of making stupid or derogatory comments
-
see Mac101 for details - and no need for the abuse thanks but to spell it out it looks like he has signed for 2 Wednesday clubs which strikes me as rather farcical.
-
I wish birmingham well but this has the makings of a farce
-
all good reasons to cut div 2 team strengths drastically next year - esp with poss Worky and Easty coming back
-
yes, its not going to be challenged any time soon so long as promoters retain it
-
the asset system is still there because no one has yet challenged it. If they did it would be found to be unlawful and unenforceable under employment laws
-
Div 2 in particular would need to drop its 'strength' and include far more Div 3 riders. Wouldn't bother me - I love watching up and comers. To be honest the main issue the sport has is costs. I don't know enough to say how bikes could be cheaper but somebody must. For me the day they allowed 4 valvers was the thin end of the wedge. If D1 riders can make a living by reducing costs we can put an end to the ludicrous DU/DD situation and charge less to get in to reposition the sport in the leisure market where it belongs - 12/13 quid. Puts on tin hat
-
we do seem to be very well supported by sponsors

if anyone else needs to fear the Russians, its the Poles. That stupid Russian Federation, or whatever in the olympics was pathetic. They're cheats and none of them should have been there. If we're going to rely on sanctions, etc they need totally isolating. Personally I'd nuke the fkr off the planet -
hate that
-
well its the same rider regardless of what average (a largely interpretable figure) so what difference does it make?
-
I think you're just bored and possibly lonely
-
sooo....what I said then
-
at 2nd div level you could probably tempt loads of ex riders if the kit was cheaper and they could actually make a couple of quid. I can't say how the kit could be cheaper at 2nd div level as i have no mechanical knowledge bit it needs to be done
