  1. same with nightclubs but they always get away with it
  2. no we don't need them, we can organise a league structure without them; we have to in reality. I think you're spot on with your comments.
  3. there's no rider shortage, the ridiculous strength of the 2nd tier is strangling their progress from the 3rd tier. Even if they're not world beaters they're competent and could make up team numbers. Yes, I'm saying the CL should be weakened. If Eastbourne and others come back next year it will be needed otherwise it won't work and we'll lose tracks.
  4. good effort from the Diamonds whatever happens
  5. 14 riders 5 guests. I rest my case m' lud
  6. 1968 Teesside v Canterbury, Pat Flanaghan and Ken Vale rode around on a 1-5 waving at the crowd. Can't remember what consequences were, I was 10 tbf. Same meeting Tyburn Gallows cleared the fence and the dog track in a nasty spill.
  7. don't want to start a row but why can't some riders go to hospital in a car? if its not critical or anything
  8. the 'blank canvas got it wrong' comment is fair though. All anyone had to do is look at BV, Scunny, Redcar, Somerset and do that.
  9. i predict a borefest with minimal passing. As per usual really
  10. these things go round, Div 2 finds kept GB at the top, or near. NZ were a power, USA were. There's no telling Polish superiority will always be there
  11. wouldn't people rather see a more attractive and competitive BV come to their track? Sick of people moaning about lack of big names - one turns up and there's hell on
  12. thats not just Newcastle suffering though, its one team fewer for the league. We need more not less.
  13. if its an ankle injury cdnt he have gone in a car?
  14. 25/5/68 Teesside v Berwick ht1 Roy Williams, Graham Pant, Wayne Barry, Dave Hardy w 43 - 35 Brian Whaley 15 pt max for the Bandits
  15. they could have yellow cards to issue to non co operative riders. A second card - 20 mtrs back
  16. some of the 'first division' riders are going through the motions in the second division when you look at the scores, taking the pi** really
  17. fair enough, but what i would say to you is that the product is the racing between evenly matched teams not big names, especially in the second division. The route for junior riders has been strangled. And trust me they are just as entertaining to watch, often local and very popular because they give 100pc. Thats what the second tier was for many years and it was largely successful and just as importantly, affordable for the promoters.
  18. not this old chestnut again. instead of telling us what won't work, tell us what would
  19. they obviously had to operate within a strict budget but the 2nd div is far too strong for the crowds it attracts
  20. not sure i ever saw anyone overtake at the Shay, spectacular though
