Leicester Lions v Redcar Bears 30/4/22
ch958 replied to justathought's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
the 'blank canvas got it wrong' comment is fair though. All anyone had to do is look at BV, Scunny, Redcar, Somerset and do that. -
wouldn't people rather see a more attractive and competitive BV come to their track? Sick of people moaning about lack of big names - one turns up and there's hell on

25/5/68 Teesside v Berwick ht1 Roy Williams, Graham Pant, Wayne Barry, Dave Hardy w 43 - 35 Brian Whaley 15 pt max for the Bandits

they could have yellow cards to issue to non co operative riders. A second card - 20 mtrs back
-
fair enough, but what i would say to you is that the product is the racing between evenly matched teams not big names, especially in the second division. The route for junior riders has been strangled. And trust me they are just as entertaining to watch, often local and very popular because they give 100pc. Thats what the second tier was for many years and it was largely successful and just as importantly, affordable for the promoters.

I remember reading about the Southampton thing but a couple of people said i was talking when i mentioned it -
the reason i asked is tto ascertain if things were stable, better or worse than recent times - no one expects 10000 anywhere, not scientific just an idea
-
well an idea would be interesting - i hope people contribute comments
-
would people report the crowd levels at the meetings they attend. Be good to keep an eye on things. Doesn't have to be accurate, just an idea
-
it can't be Halifax in Bradford, although if it was in Halfax there'd be better crowds
-
there's no shortage of young ones but they'd need to be in a weaker div2 than currently. So what if they wobble for a bit, 2nd div in 68 was full of wobblers, some of whom went on to the 1st division within a year or 2

well i know that, thought there must be progress. The land is still there, untouched as far as i can see
