Rain Offs - Unlucky Year '13!
blueherb777 replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I agree,I was looking forward to going to Lakeside v Eagles Friday. But looking at the forecast I do not see much fun watching Speedway in near freezing conditions.Roll on Kent Kings at beginning of May when hopefully it will be a lot warmer. -
Think you are right, expect a rider to be named this week and the mystery last rider END of next week?
-
We are the `KINGS` we can do anything.
-
I also have said I thought it was a shame the whole team could not be reviewed in the SS.Is it just me or has the naming of the final 2 been dragged out too long?
-
Well done Neil and all at ` Kent CTA Fire Kings` for the major team sponsorship over 2 years. Some great work going on at the Club. Will there be a fans forum/get together at the Stadium any time soon. I am sure supporters will have questions/suggestions to air.

Great issue as ever to Preview Season. Just a shame that the Worrall saga has made the prediction of Lakeside wrong finishing 5th - more like 7th/8th.And how can they predict Kent will finish 7th- 1) Still 2 riders to name 2) Can guarantee a lot higher than 7th. IMHO. -

You will find it on Sky Channel 906 or 910. -
Anyone know why Davey has pulled out of the Bob Kilby.
-
Co=Promoter at Kings I believe,so nothing to do with Raiders.
-
Neil,I know we joked about not naming the whole team before the big SS review issue. But I tnink it would be a shame if that was the case.Perhaps the last rider could be named in that issue as an exclusive for the SS ?
-
Think it is great that Steve is riding for the mighty Kings.
-
21st think you are right, this could be a very interesting League with a number of teams fancying themselves to do well. Really looking forward to the Kent v Heathens clash. Sure Heathens will bring big support, could be a cracker.
-
I have said before that hopefully Kent will have a team that competes for the League to try and get and keep a good number coming each week. And maybe win some sort of silverware in the season. I think it looks like a more competitive League than last season with Dudley,Mildenhall and IOW in the shakeup.
-
You said `one big name to go`not a rider of great potential ? Steve Boxall in this League is a `big name`. Go on then name the rider and more about him? Must admit I do not know much about the young riders that ride in this League or could ride in the team as I have been going to Lakeside the last few years to get my Speedway fix. Have been waiting and hoping a team in Kent would happen and now it has. Cannot wait for the adventure to start (over 2 months ) ,bring it on.
-
Waco. But with Steve`s average being 11+,that only leaves about 10 for last three riders. So how would you fit a big name ?
-
That was my point.
-
Neil, Presume the team will need to be fully announced at least a week before the SS `season bumper preview issue` ? So within the next three weeks or so.

Kent Kings were there,I believe ? -
Well done Neil. Listened to BBC Radio Kent this morning and you came across very well,so hopefully it will attract more people who may not be aware of the `Kings`coming to Central Park.

Promoters Roger Cearns and Len Silver are yet to go public on their rider line-up but Mason (pictured below) said: "I know who I’ll be racing with and if we don’t win something this season, there’ll be something seriously wrong. "Len even said to me if we don’t win the league with the team we’ve put together he’ll eat his own hat. Above is the Quote from the KM. Lots of confidence.

David Mason says that Kent have a strong team and will go close to winning the League - in the `Kent Messenger`. Be interesting when team is announced.
